This story had so much Protential and yet by the end I felt cheated.... The main character went from being a small boy learning in a school, to an arch Mage in turn of a page. What happened... When did it happen... How did it happen.... I still have no idea after finishing the book, nothing was explained. He just suddenly had all this power, defeated all his enemies, the End!
It almost felt like the Author didn't know where he was going with it at the end. Great imagination with the characters including magic, necromancy, dragons, fighting, war and so much more, yet somehow lacking. Very disappointing.
If you're a fan of Raymond E Feist and game of thrones type books then chances are you'll like this.
I do have to agree with Cara that the huge jumps in the main characters life left me feeling a little cheated but that would be the only criticism i'd level at this book. Over all a cracking read!
