Didn't enjoy this book at all. The writing was juvenile and the storyline had potential but didn't go anywhere. The number of beatings the poor girl endured was too fantastical and I couldn't identify with any of the characters. Needless to say I won't be reading any more of the series.

I honestly wanted to like this book. I'm a sucker for all supernatural, urban fantasy, etc. series. Here, I liked the premise, the world seemed interesting, and devil's assistant sounded quite cool and unique. The book promised so much but in the end, it's was just an endless circle of the heroine being controlled by everyone she comes across - forced to do things she didn't want to but her body had to obey. I swear, the author just threw everything unpleasant at poor Claire just for the hell of it: beatings? yes please; forced kissing and groping? sure, why not.

The Devil supposedly protects her and yet, she's in trouble every time she steps outside - because there are these RULES but no one tells her what they are. Mace hates her to the point where he tries to take everything from her, freedom, love, her unborn baby, just because Daddy likes her better? Seriously? Everyone's ungrateful when she helps them. And everyone is evil just because, no reason other than that.

The books is a convoluted mess with the time travel, prophecy, rules and secrets and gets old fast when yet another person becomes Claire's "master". There is some action but far from pulse pounding. There isn't one character I liked, not even the heroine. A bit of waste of time really.

Seriously, I have to stop reading series… They suck me in. This one is no exeption. btw… there is three books in this series at the moment and they leave you wanting more! Very good series.. cant fault it… well yeah, I can. I have several questions… where the hell is the baby! you cant do that kind of s*** to a girl… its not right! HD Smith… You are the devil.. or Mab.. not sure how much i hate you right now… will go with the devil.. because I am hoping you will answer my question in the next book!

I though the idea of a Devils assistant in a corporate setting was really original and added an exciting new twist to the Demon novels I usually read. This is quite a punchy story with a busy plot and you have to keep up with all the characters but it was really enjoyable.
