5.0 out of 5 stars An Epic Read! 6 Oct. 2013
By Abatayo L.A. - Published on Amazon.com

As a fan of Halloween, I have to say that this book intrigued me right from the start. This story practically has every genre in it, from romance to humor, and action to horror; it'll definitely keep you on your toes, wanting more.

None of the chapters seem to drag out, and there isn't any unnecessary information added in it. It's a fast paced book, and all the details and description can easily be imagined and played in your head much like a movie.

The characters, I have to say, are interesting. There's a difference between each one of them, therefore easily remembering which characters are which - which is a huge plus because there is quite a handful of them. Each character has their own personality, their own faults, problems, etc. None of them are the same, which is absolutely amazing because many books have characters that are pretty similar to one another. None of the characters are bland or 2D, and I often find myself being able to relate to most of them, and the ones I wasn't able to relate to, I was fascinated by them, wanting them to make more appearances.

The overall plot and book were certainly well thought out - I have to give the author props for that. Each word was not wasted, and everything happened for a reason. Like I said before, there wasn't any unnecessary information added onto the book.

There was quite a handful of memorable moments in this book, especially at the beginning. But, just a heads up, the ending is probably the most memorable plot twist yet, filling you with so much emotion - most of which may or may not be shock. I'd love to say more about it but I'm afraid that if I do, I might spoil it for those who haven't read this story yet, or had gotten to the parts that I want to mention.

All I have to say is that this story is a great read with a lot of potential, and the book trailer is definitely worth checking out. It was well-made and a complete teaser trailer that will leave you wanting to give the book a shot, or if you've already read it, then it will make you want to re-read it all over again.

5.0 out of 5 stars A pleasant surprize awaits those who dare to venture forth!!! 20 Oct. 2013

On reading this novel I was pleasantly surprised by how memorable characters in the story were, especially their dialog. The main star of the novel, Jason Myers is a reckless 12 year old who convinces his three friends that monsters really exist and that they are even in his town. After showing his friends a strange Halloween blog, which after a little Internet surfing I found out actually exists… (How cool is that!) The boys then go about town Scooby Doo style looking for clues about these monsters; ghosts, skeletons, witches. No done to death vampires and zombies here. After about two chapters of character development and a creepy sense of mystery and dread that builds in the story, things really take off. The monsters start attacking, turning out to be quite real. What follows then is some exciting action and twist and turns. Along with a villain in the story that really shines, with very funny, slick dialog. He reminds me of Loki from the Avengers movie. Now the reason behind the monsters I won’t spoil. But it is very clever and original, and the ending is really shocking. In summery it’s good solid Halloween book that reads almost like a Dean R Koontz novel without any bad language or graphic violence, but full of action and suspense. I am quite pleased that I took a chance reading it.
