About the Author

Gail Ranstrom always enjoyed a good tale of danger, adventure, action and romance of long ago times and distant lands. When the youngest of her three children began school, she put pen to paper and wrote her first novel, which is thankfully still under her bed. Her next efforts were more successful and she has been writing ever since as the award winning author of eight novels and two novellas. She loves to hear from readers, and you can visit her at:

HASH(0x9ca50cfc) out of 5 stars Not her best, but still pleasant to read 21 Jun. 2013

I've read quite a few fantastic books by this author and a few that were so-so. This one falls into the latter category, mainly because the interaction between the H/h was not believable. There were too many misunderstandings between them, and at the times that they were feeling charitable towards each other, they spent most of their time on sappy dialogue.

All that said, even when Ranstrom is not at her best, she still knows how to write. Her prose is quite nice, not too flowery, with careful attention to grammar and conventions, so it's always pleasant to spend a few hundred pages with her. Check out the other books in this series. I've reviewed most of them, and I've tried to point out which are the strongest. You might want to start with one of those instead and then come back to this one just to see what happens to these characters.
