I decided to order this item first because I like Danielle Steel as an author and also because I think that the adaptation of her books
on film is usually very good. Crossings has excellent actors, beautiful music, very beautiful clothes and the pre war atmosphere as well as the years of WW2 are in my opinion very believable. The great love and big romance of two decent people was an added bonus. I thoroughly enoyed this mini series

This is one of the best books by Danielle Steel turned into a best seller epic tv miniseries Set in the backdrop of the 2nd world war, we encounter the lives of two couples whose lives were about to get intertwined in many ways. An industrialist trapped in a loveless marriage meets the wife of a French ambassador on a transatlantic voyage to Europe. As time and the war progresses, she returns to America when Paris becomes occupied by the Nazis and again encounters the industrialist. An affair ensues later. Meanwhile, her husband, the french ambassador is rumoured to be a Nazi collaborator, but whose side is he really working for?
This is a poignant and heart wrenching tv epic on a lot of levels. Loyalty, love and fidelity are tested to the hilt, a wife's love and trust in her husband in the face of accusations was inspiring to see. The untold consequences of a loveless marriage and a self indulgent wife who will not let go of a marriage she no longer honoured was sad to see but depicted some life lessons of great import. Love lost and love gained abounded in the twist and turns of this epic.
Cheryl Ladd, Christopher Plummer, Jane Seymour and Lee Horsley lead a cast of excellent actors and actress who brought this story to life. The series is a reminder of one of the turbulent times of our human history - the 2nd world war and the Nazi occupation of France and many other countries. How this affected the lives the characters and their loved ones was another great reminder of why we must all root for world peace.

I originally watched this many years back a couple of times and recall thoroughly enjoying it then. Having recently just re-watched it, I still love it. I have seen a number of Danielle Steel stories, all of which were very good but for me "Crossings" is the best. Being a fan of Charlie's Angels, I bought this initially because of the talented Cheryl Ladd. As always Cheryl gives an excellent performance and I love her in this role. She is accompanied by the well established actor Christopher Plummer who plays her doting, gentle husband, Lee Horsley (You better cock your pistols-Matt Houston) who I might add, is very dashing in this and also well known Actress Jane Seymour who gives a wonderful performance as "Lee Horsley's" party loving, drink swilling, seducing wayward wife. Not wanting to give the plot away, I will just add this, it is set leading up to and during the Second World War. There is romance in abundance in life threatening situations, love, loss and hope over three episodes. So if you fancy a heart warming venture with a bit of intrigue, danger and most of all romance then this "Drama" is for you and it is the type of viewing you can watch again and again....

The only reason I did not give it a 5 is that at times it was difficult to understand Christopher Plummer.
