I was also in stitches at the "great rumming of 2015". what a way to start the story. After that I could not put it down. The other great highlight for me was the bonus read at the end, a curious proposal. This is so Owen, and I can't wait for the next instalment.
I know that there are five books planned, and that the next one (4) will be about Little Finn, which just leaves one more book. However, I wish that this be extended as I want Seamus story as well as Rory. There are so many Finns to keep this excellent series going. I also want to know what caused the rift between Shawn and old Sol. So if you read this R G Alexander, pretty please!
PS - The best news is that after I posted this review on goodreads the author replied that will definitley be more!
Anyway, back to this. Brady is another of the Finns, cousin to Owen and the senator, Stephen (book 2), and is an ex-marine, ex-cop who's meant to be suffering from PTSD (there's mention of insomnia, but not much evidence of that - or anything else associated with the disorder) and who's liked hacker/Shibari dom par excellence/rich guy, Ken Tanaka, for a while, but after a brief...makeout session, each went their own way. They get together initially because Brady gets drunk and needs a place to crash, but then Ken asks for his help infiltrating a gang. Of some sort. Using their combined skills. I think.
This is where it gets messy and that's because I skipped book 2. I think a near-baddie from that tale appears in this, vaguely connected to a case Ken is working on, in which he has a personal interest, and Brady's help is needed. Not sure what the latter contributed, other than eye candy, whilst Ken was the insider guy who cleared the way.
Anyway, all of that was sorted very quickly and easily with the help of another Finn and then there was a little bit of not-really-necessary drama, which involved breaking and microwaving PC bits to destroy viruses/hacks, and resulted in a temporary breakup.
This is a romance, so said breakup didn't last long and the leads got back together. So, why the 3*? Because it was a very rushed, very 'lite' tale that could have been a full-length one and shown Brady's worth.Read more ›
Waiting impatiently for next one :D
