I love to read Paranormal Romance books and have been eagerly waiting to read about Hunter. The Sentinels Series is one of my favourite Paranormal reads.
Hunter is indeed a demon hunter, Hunter by name hunter by nature. From the beginning he was never one to sit around and wait for things to happen, the Sentinel is a doer not a thinker.
His leader Kristoff sends him on a journey to go see the Goddess Athena. Athena is protected by very powerful magic, the kind that no man could penetrate but Hunter is not a just a man he's a powerful Sentinel with powers of his own. Unfortunately his powers are failing him, he can't understand why. Beasts are attacking him from all directions while he makes his way to Athena. The task should have been simple but the journey is one that is so dangerous thoughts of Hunter not surviving become all to real.
Athena is patiently awaiting for Hunter to arrive, she thought he would have arrived long ago. She has never left her home which has been like living in a prison but with all the luxuries anyone would desire. It has been a lonely existence for her but one she has lived regardless of the walls surrounding her.
Athena is a very powerful Goddess, she has no problem protecting herself.
What occurs after the brutal journey that Hunter had to make is astounding it's not what I expected at all.
If you have read the first to books in this series you will know that Kristoff and Athena are close friends. I always believed they would mate one day.
Such a wonderful feeling to be in love but it's never without a series of complications.
Sentinels who find their true mate become very protective, an instinct they can not fight against no matter how hard they try.

This is book three in the Sentinel series.

Hunter is a damaged man as well as a damaged sentinel. he feels he is undeserving of any form of love from anyone and has only had one sole mission in life and that is to kill.

When Hunter is called to Athena he goes through hell to get to her and when he does he is broken battered and bruised, it is left to Athena to help put him back together.

I think personally for me this is my fave of the whole series, there has always been something about hunter that had to captivated right from book one. I loved how you are pulled into the story the details of the other rhelms are amazing you can really picture where you are and the magic from the rhelms seems to flow through the story.

There is something about this couple that makes you really feel every emotion allowing you to connect easy to the story.

Fab read and 5 stars

I'm a big fan of J. S. Scott and also of paranormal so this is a win win for me.
This is the third story in the sentinel demons series. Even though each book features a different couple there is a continuing wider story arc that goes through the books, meaning you really need to have read the first two to understand where this story is coming from.
I loved reading Hunter and Athena's book. Even though it's not very long it's got plenty of action and story. I like the sentinel demons and their back story. It's clever and not something that I've seen anything like before.
The connection and romance between Hunter and Athena is great with lots of hotness. I enjoyed learning what made them tick as I was curious from meeting them before in the series.
I thoroughly enjoyed this, read it in one sitting and can't wait for the next in the series.

i've been waiting for the third book in the Sentinel series for what seems like forever, and I was not disappointed. Hunter and Athena's story was wonderful and what I lie about this series is the opportunity to catch up with previous characters Zach and Drew as well as Kristoff. Can't wait for book 4

Format: Paperback
A sentinel demon with anger management issues must rescue a woman who holds the secret to defeating his kind's biggest enemy.

This is my favorite of J.S.Scott's Sentinel Demons series. Hunter Winston is by far the darkest and most complex of the three sentinel "brothers." His zeal for killing "Evils" (the bad demons) makes him break all sorts of rules and gets him into serious trouble. As we learn, Hunter has plenty of reasons to be bitter. In many ways his long-term mission has been much harder and more damaging that those of his brother demons, Zach and Drew.

The future of all the Sentinels depends on his current assignment, but this woman he's charged with protecting isn't easy to trace. Hunter has to fight his way to her hidden mansion. By the time he gets there, he's not a happy camper. I can't say much more or even give the woman's name without completely spoiling a plot full of unexpected twists that shed light on the creation of these unique demons and their mission to protect humanity.

There's amazing chemistry between the leads. Scott builds up Hunter's bad attitude so well that we expect an explosion when the couple finally comes together. Which brings me to my only real criticism of the book--the romantic tension resolves too quickly. I wanted a more stubbornly rebellious Hunter, who fights his attraction to this woman tooth and nail. However, even with the premature tying up of the romance part, there's plenty of action and plot revelations to keep you reading.

An exciting and entertaining paranormal romance.
