A wonderful ending to the series!

What I loved the most about this series was that each character had its own distinct personality. And that uniqueness was maintained throughout, as they each made appearances in each others' books.

But I was SO happy to finally read Mal's story! He was truly the dark, brooding rock star, and he knew it! That's what intrigued me. He KNEW this was how the fans saw him and yet he also knew this wasn't who he truly was and was holding out for someone to see the real "him."

Enter Lacey. Her initial "introduction" to Mal was SMOKING HOT!!! I loved the lasting impression they made on each other as well as their lighthearted banter.

True to form, Crystal touched on a pretty heavy situation in the Strong family, but the darkness surrounding it only made the lighter parts shine so much more.

In my opinion, there may have been a few too many love scenes. Or, at the very least, one or two that were not timed well in relation to what was going on simultaneously (in other words, I don't think I, personally, would be in the mood to "do it" in the midst of a certain somber scenario).

But, I felt Mal was VERY well-written...truly a front man/rock star if ever I read one, and I look forward to many more rock star romances from Crystal!

Book Review
Title: Dangerous Fling
Author: Crystal Kaswell
Genre: Romance
Rating: *****
Review: The opening to Dangerous Fling was brilliant, we meet Lacey who is working at a set assistant for Malcolm Strong’s new music video. Mal is a celebrity millionaire and rock star sex god who Lacey often dreams about and her dream sort of comes true when the model for the video is taking too long in makeup and Lacey is asked to work in her place. The attraction between the two is so easy to see from the first page of this novel. While both Lacey and Mal are attracted to each other they maintain a professional relationship while working on the video but Mal sees something in her, something he wants and he always gets what he wants.
As we approach the ¼ mark in the novel we see Mal and Lacey get to know each other through text and he likes the fact that she is practically jumping into his bed, she even turns down his offer a booty call and while Mal has never had a proper relationship or fallen in love I think they work well together. As their professional relationship develops with Mal offering Lacey more directorial work on Dangerous Noise’s videos, which she is extremely excited about but he isn’t sure he is going to be able to keep his second brain in check. I loved the strange relationship dynamic between Lacey and Mal, I loved how he likes her and he doesn’t like anymore and how he doesn’t want to hurt her but he can’t stand not having her in his bed especially when she is so willing. I love how Mal slowly opens up to Lacey without even realizing he is doing it and how Lacy so eagerly responds to everything little thing about him.

I really enjoyed the Sinful Serenade series by Crystal Kaswell and some of the Dangerous Noise series, but this one wasn't one of my favourites. It's a good book if you want lots of hot sex and some bondage and a bit of spanking but I would have preferred more plot and character development and less sex. I'm not into BDSM books and generally avoid them, but I'd say the type in this book is probably "BDSM Light" if there is such a thing.

Spoilers:
Mal is the oldest member of the group and while the others are all paired off, he seems to prefer to be a lone wolf. As his parents decided to put him in charge at 18 so they could do their medical work abroad, he's been the responsible one, the one who kept the family going but as his brother Ethan has reunited with Violet and his little sister Piper has paired up with Kit, another member of the band, Mal feels as if he is no longer needed. He meets Lacey who is working as an assistant to a video director and they are soon involved both professionally and personally. Mal doesn't do relationships so when sweet and loving Lacey admits she has feelings for him he cuts her off cold turkey.

In the earlier books I was always interested in Mal as a character and although he gets his happy ending the story didn't wow me. It's not bad, it's just maybe not as good as some of Crystal Kaswell's earlier rock series books. In this book every other member of the band is married, engaged or becomes engaged. There is sadness with the death of someone close to several members of the band.

If these books are new to you, I'd suggest you start with the Sinful Serenade collection

Crystal your series is just getting better & better. We're catching up with the 'Dangerous Noise' men. So here it's Malcolm Strong's story & oh how I love Mal this controlling strong man well from the outside due to having to being up his younger siblings guitarist Ethan & younger Sister Piper, whilst their parents go around the world doing their research. Do he had this inner demon really where he's scared to fall in love & someone else break his heart.
Then it until the music director's assistant Lacey steps in as his love interest & this steamy hot scene shouts out 'oh yes please' 😊 but whilst she's playing with editing what's been captured for Dangerous Noise's latest music video as she sees her boss Danielle isn't getting what the story is saying or what Mal wants to get out of the video.
Lacey I feel is a sensitive lady who is also crying out for the proper loving sexual relationship which she never got from her ex Adam, poor lady being with a man who yes she does love though I feel it was both as a brother & being accustomed to it. So we see how these 2 come together not just in doing this first video but the next one they'd be doing & their 'no strings attached relationship' until the end of her contract. Oh heck if you've loved Crystal's previous HOT stories you'll love this one & god it is so, so HOT, but it's also another emotional piece & not just for Mal but the whole Strong Family, so heads up you'll feel the emotion & you may need tissues on hand & not just for your eyes 😢😜
