AmazIng voice - needs a recording contract so that she can be fully appreciated. Like many others I was stunned by her singing in 'Endeavour' and googled her. Would love to hear her perform some Etta James stuff, or old torch songs. A touch of Caro Emerald with more smoke!

Rachel D'Arcy has a husky, scratchy voice that's ideally suited to the style of music she sings. She writes her own tunes (at least the two that are on here) - they're not especially original, but they are very catchy, and she must be a powerhouse singing them live. Her voice reminds me of Melody Gardot, and the style of these two songs is similar to Ms Gardot: suggestive of late-night, smoke-filled clubs or a film noir soundtrack (remember Harlem Nights and Stacy Keach?) and indeed she sang live on an episode of Endeavour, the Morse prequel series. In short, if you like burlesque music-hall or cabaret-style singers, you'll like this.

In short, this is a nice introduction for a promising young jazzy singer, and I hope she does well.

Undiscovered gold. Rachel needs to put together Dance for You and other songs onto CD and preferably Vinyl to get the best detail out of her rich, earthy tones. Listening to Rachel's voice transports you to a smoke filled, other-time glam Club.
