Whether you are a parent who wants to understand how to make sense of a recent diagnosis and what this will mean to you, whether you are a health care professional wanting to find better connections with your clients and their families, or whether you simply want an insight into how solutions to our problems can be brought into being, then you should read this.

This is Sera's first book and it is a moving testament to the strength and sheer tenacity of a remarkable woman who will not compromise on the quality of care her daughter Dana requires to give her the best possible life. Sera's writing allows you to easily join her on her journey and the photographs are a candid and intimate glimpse of family life.

By a chance conversation, Sera becomes aware of a possible treatment which has the ability to change Dana's life irrevocably for the better-and there are risks. What choices would you make If this was your child? What qualities would you need ? What is out there if you are in a similar position?

Illuminating. Thought provoking. Moving. Enjoyable.

I was able to identify with so many aspects of Sera's story, having a daughter with the same condition as Dana. It wasn't always comfortable reading, in fact at times it was very hard because it stirred up difficult emotions I'd tried hard to bury. Sera, in writing this book, is giving a precious gift of information and experience to other parents who are considering this operation for their child. She has sacrificed her private thoughts and emotions to do this - it was a privilege to read such an honest, soul bearing true story.

I have a son with an undiagnosed syndrome. The main marker is his hypotonia ( low muscle tone) but some therapists have ventured that it might be CP, just like Dana. I learned so much about what can be done when the doctors are not listening to your concerns and how never to give up on our children. I will recommend this book to other parents in our child's physio sessions and also to the parents of able-bodied children so they understand what we are going through.

I thought this book was really interesting. It helped me to understand what life must be like for a child with Cerebal Palsy. It would be of great help to anybody thinking of having SDR because it explains all the ups and downs of the treatment. I think that Dana is really brave.
