This is AK and Phebes story. I adore AK we've never really seen the real him, just glimpses of the man he is. So I loved seeing the man underneath. I have to be honest his secrets broke my heart.
Phebe has never felt real love, used and abused from a young age passed around by the Order then by the Evil Meister. She's suffered so much, I loved her strength she's so brave. My heart broke for her too.
AK is on a mission to save Phebe from the Meister he feels a connection to her that he can't explain, he needs to save her.
So with his Brothers he makes a plan to retrieve her and bring her back.
Things aren't that easy as Phebe has secrets too. There's a connection between her and AK two damaged souls that are drawn to each other. These two just killed me I wanted to hug them so badly.
This book was just amazing. I love the connection throughout from the other characters. You never feel left behind because these books just flow perfectly from one to the next.
The Psycho Trio...Gah I bloody love them. This book just cemented my Love for Viking, he is hilarious. I need his story so bad.
I can not wait for more from the Hangmen this series just goes from strength to strength. It's addictive in every way.
Tillie Cole has once again brought her readers the ultimate in alpha males, superb writing and devastating backstories that will bring tears to your eyes. AK and Phebe are to easy to fall in love with - you are routing for them from the get go, but you know that you will have to buckle in for the crazy emotional ride that they will take you on.
The story picks up with AK, going on a mission with the Hades Hangmen to rescue Ky's (VP) wife (Lilah) sister who was taken in Deep Redemption, from the Order by Meister from the Aryan Brotherhood.
AK has not been able to get the freckle-faced, redhead Phebe out of his head from the moment they met when he tied her to a tree in Heart Recaptured, when the Hangmen rescued Lilah from the Order.
"A devil's man with angel eyes."
As the story unfolds AK - the Sergeant-At-Arms of the Hades Hangmen, ex-Marine Sniper, one of the Psycho Trio (Flame and Viking) - reveals a hidden suffering and sadness that he keeps buried deep within his beautiful deep brown eyes. A deep regret that haunts his dreams, tormenting his soul.
Phebe was a Sacred Sister of the Order - trained in the art of seduction to recruit men to the cause - has been through her own personal hell. You will learn of the struggles she faced on a daily basis not only in the Order but at the hands of the one called Meister.
"My soul yearned for that touch, for the heart of the person that soul belonged to. A magnet's pull"
We are also treated to a look into Flame and Lil' Ash's developing relationship and Flame's struggle to show affection.
The 5th novel in the Hades Hangmen series is no less than an incredible story, a work of art, with very complex characters and backstories, highs and lows like you wouldn't believe, if you haven't read this series then you need to pick it up NOW, starting with book #1 IT AIN'T ME BABE, starring my main man Styx the Hangman Mute and President. It Ain't Me, Babe (Hades Hangmen Book 1)
I was soooo looking forward to this book and I was not disappointed. It was so intense though that my nails are now non existent and it made me cry twice. I loooooove the couple of Flame chapters as it gave us a little insight into his way of thinking after everything and the storyline, as sick and twisted as it was, was just fantastic.
AK and Phebe were awesome, both their stories were heart breaking, and I can't freakin wait for the next one. As for side characters, for some reason I can't remember Slash, I can't wait to see more of Zane and Lil' Ash is gonna be amazing whenever he gets a story and he'd better get one Tillie, just saying.
The only not so good thing for me was I kept seeing little errors. I don't remember Tillie Cole books having so many errors, but then the last few books of hers I've read have been ARCS so I tend to ignore mistakes in ARCS. I bought this book though, so would have though any issues would have been dealt with. It didn't take away any enjoyment for me though, just surprised me is all.
5 stars for another book that is one of my favourite series.
