I have watched this several times but, more importantly, made an MP3 of the soundtrack to listen to for the daily routine of travel to / from work, long journeys, etc. Like the Steely Dan (Aja), The Band, Pink Floyd (Dark Side), Paul Simon (Graceland), Phil Collins (Face Value) equivalent DVDs in the series, this is a great listen to.... for anyone interested in the music the insights are enlightening, helpful, and make you appreciate these great albums even more ... this DVD is a no brainer purchase for anyone that like good American music .... and that's coming from a dour "grippy" Scotsman from Aberdeen .....

This is a pretty interesting dvd about the making of the third album by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. It features Tom, Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench talking about their contribution to each track, and showing how each of them played their instruments and how each part fitted together to make the whole. They are obviously all passionate about their craft and have a great affinity with each other which comes across very clearly. Contributions are also made by Jimmy Iovine and Shelly Yakus. If you're just interested in the songs, then buy the cd, but if you like to see beind the scenes and find out just how good tracks can be made great, then this is for you.

If you've heard the Cd, then it's impossible you haven't become addicted to it the very minute it ended. After a few spins I'm pretty sure you wanted to know more about the creation of this masterpiece... and what's better than this excellent dvd who interviews Tom Petty and all guys responsible for this classic album, together in the studio at the end of the nineties?! It's priceless seeing Campbell, guitar in hand discussing the glories of Here Comes My Girl or Even The Losers! Excellent!
