All single malts mature at different rates, maturing best in different styles of cask. Long experience tells us them that after fifteen years the combination of citrus orange, aromatic spices, nuttiness and dried fruits from European oak sherry casks is balanced. Good attack on the palate, elegant and refined. The aged Matusalem, Apostoles and Amoroso Oloroso sherry butts deliver a rich and aromatic heart full of dried spices- cloves, cinnamon and ginger. A concentrated citrus mouth-feel tantalises the middle part of your tongue with Seville orange, lemon and lime. Truly a Highland malt of great distinction. Matured 100 Percent in sherry casks Matusalem, Apostoles and Amoroso. This is quite simply, the ideal single malt, the partner for celebration.

From the manufacturer
Our Royal Heritage
The Dalmore’s heritage dates back to 1263 when Colin of Kintail, Chief of the Clan Mackenzie, saved King Alexander III from the fury of a charging stag. In recognition of this noble act the King granted the Mackenzie Clan the right to use the 12 pointed stag emblem on their coat of arms.
When descendants of the Clan became owners of The Dalmore distillery in 1867, the Royal Stag became the recognisable icon that proudly adorns each bottle of The Dalmore today.
The Dalmore Distillery
Founded by Alexander Matheson, The Dalmore distillery has been operating on the banks of the Cromarty Firth since 1839 and prides itself on an unbroken chain of brilliant, visionary and influential craftsmen.
For over 175 years The Dalmore has set the standards that many other whisky makers follow today.
The personal curating of casks, the expertise handed down and the obsession of everyone involved are responsible for the layered house style befitting of a luxury single malt whisky.

|The Dalmore Range||The Dalmore 12 year old, with its intricate aromas and flavours, is recognised as a whisky with character far beyond its age. This was Andrew Mackenzie’s original masterpiece and stood apart from the norm of the day.||The Dalmore 15 year old is smooth, rich and well rounded; the epitome of The Dalmore house style. It is initially matured for 12 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks then split between Amoroso, Apostoles and Matusalem oloroso for three.||This 18 year old expression harnesses bolder notes. A robust and formidable whisky, The Dalmore 18 year old showcases the result of extended maturation and the influence of the wood.||Matured initially in American white oak, it is carefully divided into rare hand-sourced 25 year old sweet Palomino Fino sherry butts and 1980 first fill bourbon casks, before being transferred into Tawny Port pipes from Portugal.||Beginning in the finest American white oak ex-bourbon casks, half is transferred to seasoned Tawny Port pipes from W and J Graham's vineyard in Portugal, creating a whisky which is indulgent, smooth and complex.|
Heritage and Maturation
Exquisite Cask Curation
The Dalmore continues a heritage that treasures the sanctity of the cask. Hand selected by Master Distiller Richard Paterson and sourced from the world’s finest bodegas and wineries, the house style derives from a trusted relationship, forged with sherry house Gonzalez Byass over 100yrs ago.
To create a more complex character, some of The Dalmore whiskies benefit from an extra flourish in additional casks. Every cask that we source is impeccable and uniquely compatible with the single malt whisky for which we are renowned. The Dalmore can therefore claim to be One of Life’s Privileges.
The man who became an icon
A pioneer in the art of cask curation, Master Distiller Richard Paterson has now been the creative force behind The Dalmore for nearly five decades; on a perpetual mission to push the boundaries of whisky maturation, cask curation and finishing, he has now created numerous ground-breaking releases.
