The bags are lightweight, and the construction and fabric were both very high quality. The patterns we chose were extremely easy to spot when picking up my luggage at the baggage return, and to keep an eye on my bags in the notorious Rome airport. The bags rolled smoothly and were easy to maneuver. My husband had just had back surgery so he could not pick the bags up, but it was very easy for me to do so with all of the handles. The compartments came in handy for sectioning off clothes and shoes, or clean clothes and dirty clothes when we were returning. Everything stayed neat and organized. I come from having a zuca pro carry on, so I am used to compartment-based packing, and was happy not to have to purchase packing cubes (having them built right in to the bag itself).
When I was purchasing, I went back and forth a lot about what size to buy. I will tell you that the 65L is just right. I could see using the 100L for two people, but if you need to stay in the 50# range, don't bother with the 100L. It will be much too big. Fully packed, each suitcase was a pound or two shy of 50 lbs.
I am VERY happy with this purchase and looking forward to using this luggage for years to come.
The only downside to this bag, which was mostly an issue for my husband with his back injury, is that it would have been easier for him to maneuver sometimes if the bags had four wheels on the bottom, to make it easy to push around while upright. This would have helped when I needed to go do something and he was left alone with the bags. Or when I had to move 5 pieces of heavy stacked items by myself just to get them a few feet out of the way.
The split concept had me wondering whether or not I'd be able to fit all I needed, but rest assured, there is PLENTY of room in this bag. There is a large compartment in the bottom, and three separate compartments in the top portion. I thought perhaps the shoe compartments on the outside would cut into the interior space, but so far as I can tell, there is very little difference. These compartments would be great for toiletries, or dirty clothes even. The wheels roll smoothly, and the retractable handle plays nicely with my briefcase's handle strap.
As I still have yet to take a trip with this bag, I'll leave that for a future update. The color I chose, the "Columbia" scheme, should prove useful in identifying on baggage carrousels.
4 compartments allow for ample packing. The large bottom (main packing) compartment allows for tons of clothes, I was even able to pack a suite jacket in there on top of my folded clothes and it did not get wrinkled. There are 3 compartments on the top, 2 mid size left and right (Good for shoes, shaving kit, ect.. I fit 4 pairs of shoes in these two compartments) and one larger compartment in the middle of the two. Just for reference I was able to fold and fit a large down jacket in the middle top compartment with room to spare. Each section has a built in zipper mesh lining to cover the contents you pack so things don't shift around during travel.
Overall a great bag. I was a little unsure of the 100L size at first but I'm glad I got the biggest as it allows for as much as I want to pack. The buckle straps allow you to cinch down the bag so its nice and tight. Should last a long time. Recommended!
