One word of advice (and the reason I didn't give 5 stars): if the price for the color you like is really good, don't hesitate to order it. I ordered mine 6 days ago when the "Libby" color was $41.10, but as I write this review, the price is now a little over $52 for the same color. All in all, this will be a great college backpack for me.
stick out so far from my back that I look like a turtle when I see myself in a store window.
There are so many pockets and zippers that I sometimes lose track of where I have items stowed but that will just take a little more practice to get sorted out. Really happy with the separate compartment for laptop computers on the back, as well as the security pocket. Was worried that that zipper
would rub on my back or snag my clothing but so far no problems there.
The sternum strap is uncomfortable to use. I thought Frankie was specifically a bag for women, but the strap does not seem compatible with my shape. Maybe other women will not find it a problem. I
just will not use it unless absolutely necessary.
I like the padded base. Feels like laptops and other delicate items have just that much more protection. :)
However, when the bag is set down on a table or floor, it flops over. No matter how much or how little I have packed in it, the bag always falls forward. Not a huge deal but seems odd that it should be off balance like that. I can't see any advantage in designing a tip-prone bag. I wish Dakine would reveal their secret.
Wish this bag came in as wide array of color choices as some other bags do. Suzie is not too girly and not as boring as some of the other choices, but still it would have been nice to have as many options as say, Prom or Campus. I wonder why Dakine is not forward on this model? Are they trying to phase it out? That would be a mistake.
All in all, it is a very nice bag.
It is AWESOME. It has bunch of separate pockets that help me keep stuff organized. My previous backpack had only 2 and it was annoying to look for things, and inside was black.
- black but with feminine touch (Elli),
- it has 7 compartments and 2 bottle holders (one has a zipper, kind of 8th compartment), I especially like sunglasses and secure ones,
- fabric is top notch quality, should last for years,
- inside is blue so items are more visible,
- mesh on straps and back,
- keeps the shape,
- adjustable sternum strap (can go up and down easily, but not by itself).
No cons for me.
I use it at the gym, carrying change of clothes for my volleyball, including shoes, kneepads and other accessories. I can fit my volleyball on top of that and you can not even tell it's inside! The best thing is that the backpack is not huge and very comfortable to wear (when I use my bike to the gym).
