Product Description

Review

". . . brilliantly structured so that it holds the interest when read aloud rather as a good joke must before arriving at its punchline . . . Nick Sharratt's bright, simple pictures look almost as though an inspired child had produced them - and that may well be why children respond to them so warmly" (Observer)

"Praise for the Daisy books: "Sure-fire winners to pre-schoolers and juniors"" (The Bookseller)

"The determined Daisy is to be a bridesmaid at Auntie Sue's wedding, but doesn't do dresses . . . A compromise is found but not before Nick Sharratt has had fun illustrating the array of dresses with ruffles, bows and sashes" (The Bookseller)

"Gray's economical, repetitive text is ably assisted by Sharratt's bold, expressive lines and colours: Daisy's eyebrows alone are an essay in rebellion!" (Booktrusted News)

"If your youngsters have been lucky enough to enjoy an earlier book called Eat Your Peas, it's a safe bet that they will like these stories too" (South Wales Argus)

Book Description

He loves Daisy, my boy. He's 4, but loves each of these books. Even though this one is all about Daisy's dresses.

I was surprised. Daisy is going to be a bridesmaid but thinks all the potential dresses are "yuk!". They all reach a compromise though, when Daisy is allowed to design her own outfit. My son loved it! Just shows that we shouldn't pigeonhole books (and toys) into genders.

Great story, kept our interest and fun to read together, a good length for bedtime. We loved the dresses, deciding which were nice and which were " yuk!".

Great for girls AND boys 3-6.

My daughter loves the Daisy books and this one is a real favourite. It is brilliantly written and the illustrations are fantastic, especially Daisy's self-designed bridesmaid's dress! I can't recommend it highly enough.

My daughter is called Daisy which is why we got this book in the first place, we now have the entire collection and this is one of my favourites. It is a simple yet funny story and children can relate to Daisy easily. I love reading this book at bedtime to my daughter and my son but i also like reading it myself sometimes. Excellent book, great pictures and brilliant story!

My 9 year old used to love this series of books. On clearing out her book shelves a few years ago we came across a couple that she passed on to her little sister. Her sister loved them and insisted on looking for them when we were at the library. On one visit she found this one and we read it everyday and she got very upset when we had to return it. I decided that I would buy her her own copy.

3 year old really likes this book and choosing which dresses she would "actually like for my birthday" in March.
It is focused on Daisy being a bridesmaid which is apt for my daughter as she'll be a bridesmaid in April.

As usual with the Daisy books this was loved by granddaughter although it was too easy for a seven year old to read. It's obvious that I now have to choose more reading and fewer pictures for future books

We have all the 'daisy' books. Have bought them over the years for my daughter who's now 11 ( and still likes to read them) but have shared them with lots of children who I work with. Everyone loves daisy.
Daisy always gets lots of giggles and especially this book.
