Disturbing yet very, very funny, it's a shocking, scathing delight. ― The Sun

The comedy book of the year. ― Time Out
The tales he treats us to are indeed both daft and wee; happily, they’re funny, peculiar and original, too. ― Guardian

Having said all of that, there is something a little insubstantial in most of the stories, and the twists (which are well executed) lose something by being somewhat predictable after you've gone through half the book. They never lose their charm, but the impact is sometimes a little dissipated by expectation.
Very much recommended, and I'll certainly be keen to sample more of his stories in the future.
[1] There you go, big man.
It’s fair to say Limmy is a polarising taste, and I fall firmly on the side of ‘fan’.
I bought this for reading on the plane when I was going on holiday last year. I wish I hadn’t, as it lt had me laughing out loud (yes, literally) at times. This attracted digs in the ribs from my wife, and concerned looks from my fellow passengers.
This book delivers exactly what it says on the tin. It’s a collection of stories and ‘thoughts’ which are ‘wee’ (some are very wee, others a bit longer), and they are definitely daft. The irreverence of Limmy’s humour definitely comes across in this. There are some which continue for several pages with deadpan earnestness, only to tear it all down in the final well-earned punchline. It’s hard not to read this in your head in Limmy’s voice. If anything that helps with the ‘delivery’!
I’m not sure if I would recommend this to someone who hasn’t seen his work before. You might ‘get’ it, but without his unique delivery, there is a big chunk missing. I think it’s best taken after a few taster sessions of his massive online body of work. If you like even one or two of the vines he has created, you’re likely to enjoy this book!
Now it's my turn.
This is a collection of mostly quite competent, very short stories. They are off-beat, though not as weird as some I have read (which you may take as a compliment); there is a nod to Scots dialect, but nothing that will give the English reader any difficulty, even if, like most Englishmen and women, you think that "ilk" means "type" or "kind"; and overall the quality is, in my opinion, pretty variable. It won't take you long to read, you may feel not long enough at the price, but it is a very nicely presented hardback.
So I do recommend it. But 5 stars---I'm afraid not!
This is a collection of short stories, all of which are less than a 10 minute read. All of them are very odd. Some are hilarious, some are interesting, others just truly bizarre. A number of the stories seem to be going nowhere and then just totally twist in the last few words. In others Limmy somehow has his character work through the logic of a stupid decision and somehow convince themselves to make that stupid decision
This collection is a good read, but don't expect it to be laugh out loud funny. This isn't your Michael Macintyre autobiography, it is a collection of daft wee stories, generally showing people getting themselves into weird situations or doing stupid things.
I find it difficult to find myself immersed in the world in which the story is set, or to care about the characters. Most of these stories (though there are a few exceptions) lack depth.
As I said, they're not bad, they're just fine. Good, but nothing more.
