There's loads of great projects in here along with some heart felt advice on (successfully) being a weekend dad. My one gripe is that the best stuff always needs a glue gun. Not ideal around kids who you're trying to involve without injuring, and constantly telling they can't have a go with it, even though it looks like a toy.

This is an excellant book - if only I can be arsed to do anything in it - it sits on the shelf and laughing at me - i'm sure I'll get around to doing some of the stuff - in due course.

I have been a fan of Chris Barnardo's for many years, he is a genius and it's great to see he has produced the first of many wonderful books. He is a great father and in this book he shares some of his experience and knowledge on how to entertain and keep your kids interested. One look at the dadcando website shows the heritage for this book, loads of amazing projects put together by Barnardo for the benefit of single dads and their kids everywhere. This is superb quality stuff, ethical and with great design sense, something on every page that all kids will enjoy working on with their dads - great book!

'Wow - cool!' exclaimed my 12 year old son as he ripped open the package from Amazon. And he hasn't stopped reading through this book since. We've successfully made a couple of easy models together already and those instructions and illustrations were really easy to follow so I'm optimistic for the more advanced stuff he's itching to have a go at next. Thanks.

The advertising blurb for this book did not mention it was targeted at lone fathers. I bought two copies for my sons to inspire them with ideas for spending more creative time with their children - only to find it was full of tips for separated fathers trying to find quality time with their children. An excellent idea but not mentioned in the title or promotional material. Very misleading!

Fabulous! Packed full of fantastic things to make and do with your kids - perfect for mums too. It's actually a hardback, not paperback as stated in the Amazon description, so it makes for a lovely gift for any parent.

My grandchildren are 7 and 4 years old so I thought this book would show me lots of things to make or do with them. It certainly does so in that respect I am pleased. However on the downside many of the things you can make require the prior collection of the items you need or involve the expense of buying them. A lot are also more complicated than I certainly expected. Perhaps for someone more able than myself it would be a doddle. A bit disappointed with the book

Terrific step by step book for dads with crafty fun things to make (mostly from left overs around the house). We were inspired by the original ideas. Examples include a floating submarine, helicopter, the cutest ladybug, how to make crystals, a feather quill, binding a book... The only thing that we didn't realise was that this book has a section with real focus on single dads that are separated from their kids and only have weekends together. Not applicable to our situation, but didn't deter me from getting the book as there were such great ideas.
