First time I've ever bought the Drevo brand, also the first time I've had an SSD die on me. Won't touch the brand ever again and will stick with Samsung or Sandisk, neither has ever been a problem.

I can't recall what possessed me to buy Drevo in the first place. I'm really annoyed at myself as this means a complete OS reinstall.

Value for money is also marked as one star, they could sell these for a fiver and it would still be poor value if I have to reinstall everything when they die.

First arrived fast and free. Packed well sponge lined box. Amazon you are the Alpha and Omega of online shopping. Yes even Yoda. Tried the free software to clone the drive got an error. Think my fault. Because the ssd was smaller than the donor drive. Never mind. Installed new clean Windows 10 on it. Its in an old Toshiba satellite pro duel drive bay model. Booted up into windows, ready to go in 22 seconds. Yes people 22 seconds. Even managed 20 twice. Then I threw every thing I could at the drive. I made it work hard. My CPU fan was going flat out. It never flickered once. If it lasts a couple of years I will be over the moon. Buy them folks, Don`t be afraid Do not always need big names. May the force be with you. Mine was the 256gb one.

Cheap and Fast SSD Storage used for Xbox One.

So I bought this SSD to use as an external hard drive with an Xbox One S/X.
So far I have to say I've noticed a huge improvement with loading times on games and my main reason for going for this drive over others are the many reviews looked at of this and similar drives pointed this one as being one of the better options for the money.
I use this drive with a simple USB 3 - SATA cable and have had no issues at all.
The drive was extremely quick to format for use on the Xbox System and I'm surprised Xbox are not yet offering an SSD version of their console as it's a huge improvement over the stock storage method.
I would recommend this drive and now I know the product is up to standard, will be tempted to get a larger version of this same Drive.
It has the best transfer rates listed of the cheaper drives and this is reflected in many of the reviews I have read or watched.
If your unsure which cheap drive to go for then I can only speak for this one and say i think it's more than worth the money for the increase in loading times.

Sadly attracted by the low price - What a mistake they are dropping like flies several months on - Avoid these and pay a little more and get a well know brand with a proper manufacture backed warranty, only not given zero stars because 1 is the lowest. You have been warned.

Good value, some software issues

The disk is very good value and has significantly speeded up a 6 year old Dell with an i3 processor. I thoght that cloning the old drive onto the new SSD would be easy. I downloaded and installed the Drevo software and it looked very good but I had three attempts to clone the disk and each failed after over two hours showing "data migration error". I tried removing my AV program and for the last attempt I removed everything that was not essential. Nothing helped. So I gave up and downloaded Macrium Reflect and tried that to better (and faster!) effect. The whole process was over in 27 mins and the clone worked perfectly.

No HDD activity indicator

I fitted this drive in a few minutes. I found that the mountings do not have metal inserts so the threads are easily shredded if more than just enough force is used to tighten the screws. I also noticed that there is no hard drive activity indicator any more. I have not disturbed any of the connectors while removing the previous drive so, i'm guessing it's something to do with the new drive. It is quite fast and and time will tell if it's reliable too.
