I have now used this keyboard for just over a month and my conclusion is that it's a great keyboard for the price. I would really recommend it if you like the layout (which in my mind is the best compromise of space saving and utility), and can stand the couple of problems that it has.

Layout:
The layout is like all the keys on a you really need on a keyboard (apart from the numberpad, obviously) but all squashed up into a form factor which is much smaller horizontally. This allows you to have your mouse closer to your keyboard and in a more ergonomic position, which may reduce shoulder problems (although not a truly ergonomic solution). If you're anything like me and like a small keyboard with arrow keys, this is my favourite layout out of all the other compact keyboards I have tried.

Features:
So it's a gaming keyboard which means it has a lot of features, things like: NKeyrollover (theoretically you can press all the keys at once), backlight (with a number of backlighting modes), braided cable (meant to be more durable, not always the case), windows lock function, double-shot keycaps (legends on the keycaps will never fade), and of course mechanical key-switches (by Chinese company Outemu). I really just turn the backlight on the solid mode and just be done with it, but it is nice to have all these features even though I don't really use them all.

Mechanical key-switches:
To me, this is pretty much the most attractive feature for a mechanical keyboard. I got the brown switch version, which has a tactile bump but no click. Comparing them to Cherry and Gateron switches, they are scratchier and feel heavier (not as springy).

For the price I was very interested in what kind of quality you could get from a cheaper mechanical keyboard. Overall I am very pleased with the value for money and so far the keyboard has been mostly excellent, with the exception of a few flaws.

Structurally the keyboard is rigid, has a good weight to it, and despite being plastic doesn't feel too cheap. It's by no means a premium feeling peripheral, but it definitely doesn't feel flimsy or poorly constructed. The keys have a matte finish to them which feels pretty nice, the underside has rubber feet, and the braided cable is also a great addition for added strength and overall appearance.

What most people will be concerned about is the mechanical switches, do they live up to Cherry MX standards? I'm somebody who previously used a £100+ Corsair RGB mechanical keyboard, amongst other switch types over the years, and I can safely say these 'knock-off' switches are about 90% identical to Cherry MX ones. The value for money is pretty incredible. I have a Cherry MX switch testing kit and when I pressed the Outemu red switches of this keyboard next to Cherry MX reds they felt very similar. The only difference I could notice was the Outemu switches are a bit more 'clacky', in other words they are a bit louder than Cherry MX switches. It's not a major problem, but it does concern me as to how loud the Outemu blue variant would be considering the reds I'm using are meant to be a lot quieter than blues.

Another thing to note is the backlighting. The white LEDs are very good and there is a good variation of brightness settings depending on your preferences. There are also some alternate lighting modes such as pulse or a snake-like pattern, although I personally just prefer the simple full backlighting effect.

First off, the big concerns with cheap mechs are usually two things: switches and diodes.

Switch quality ultimately dictates how nice the product feels to type on and Outemu's (used in this model) are rapidly gaining respect in the enthusiast community as a decent switch. The blues click louder than Cherry MX blues so that is worth keeping in mind.

Diodes stop things like keychatter and allow you to type quickly without dropping keys and this keyboard is all set up as you'd expect and types fine. These are actually rebranded Keycool 84s. I know because I took mine apart to do a switch swap.

The switches are compatible with any MX compatible replacement keycaps and this board uses as close to a standard bottom row as you're ever likely to get though you'll have to use a few keys out of place or buy a compatibility pack if you want to use custom caps.

Lighting modes are decent though I don't use them much as I'm not a fan of backlighting.

I'd recommend this over the magicforce if you don't mind the slightly larger size.

This is a nice entry level mechanical keyboard. It has just about the right weight and the compact size make it perfect for a small computer station.

The switches are reasonably quiet (ive choose the brown ones) and the tactical feedback is similar to the Cherry MX switches although only time will tell if the built is comparable with them.

All in all I'm satisfied with the product, although as a designer I would have preferred a less futuristic choice of font the characters on the keys - but that's only me I suppose.
