I have a large number of these travel guides. What I like about them is their format - each book gives an overview (rather than lots of detail). It provides a summary of what is on offer. Inside is not just the obvious i.e. the Top 10 sights to see. Also you get things like the Top 10 museums & galleries, Top 10 markets, Top 10 Arts & Crafts, Top 10 events etc. - even the Top 10 things to avoid. That makes them very useful, and a unique approach to travel guides. I use them to decide what to do, and then use another book (or a website) to give me more detail if I need that.

This book covers, for example:
 SoBe Life
 Art Deco District
 Calle Ocho, Little Havana
 Gold Coast Highway A1A
 Key West
 The Everglades
 Beaches
 Snorkeling & diving
 Sports Activities
 Parks, Gardens & Zoos
 Lively Arts
 Festivals
 Malls & Markets
 Nightlife
 Restaurants
 Romantic Spots
 Children's Attractions
(This is some, not all)

The book in its physical format is small - just small enough to fit inside a DL envelope (i.e. the standard white envelope, designed to accept a sheet of A4 paper folded twice). It is actually a few centimetres shorter than a DL envelope. This compact size makes it easy to fit into your pocket.

This book can't provide detail - it can provide `the big picture'. I now normally take two travel guides with me - a DK Top 10 one like this and a detailed travel guide, to get the best of both worlds. If you just have a detailed travel guide, you can miss out on things that you wish you had visited.

I got this because I was going to Miami and the Keys on holiday, having already exhausted another travel book on Miami and the Keys. It was really useful. with the pull out maps at the front and back of it and another map it meant that I would always have a map and it had some great recommendations.

I love the Eyewitness guides so tend to seek them out ahead of every big trip, but then find that for our style of short break much of the content is not directly relevant. On a recent visit to Miami South Beach I found this '10 best of' format exactly right for my needs, all of the key places to visit, useful maps and not much we didn't need, all in a handy lightweight pocket size book.

Very informative - great pictures - unfortunately most of the ten places were quite away from Miami so not easily visited unless you have a car

This is an excellent book. Well researched and full of useful details. It's small enough to carry around if you need it, and has a useful fold out map in the back. I can't recommend it highly enough.

I generally like the DK Top 10 guides. This is the first I bought on Kindle and found the format to be pretty unhandable.
Contents are ok, so please do not see this as a criticism of the guide as such. It's just the kindle edition which I do not recommend to buy. If you're looking for something specific, eg a restaurant in a certain area, it is impossible to navigate to the section you need easily. The links between chapters are confusing and not always making sense. Editor would need to include more kindle-specific table on context, index or something like that. Pity, because in general I think travel guides on kindle would be pretty cool.
