I loved reading this book, it had me hooked from start to finish. Becket was just an amazing and kind guy. I'm glad he got his own book (we first met him in He loves me Knot. Which FYI was an amazing read!! ) Ivy was a strong female character who didn't believe in love and was weary due to her past but had a heart of gold. The book was an all round awesome read. It had the perfect mix of sweet, sexy and a little bit of heartbreak.
This one was quite unusual though.
Ivy and two friends coach people on how to have a painless relationship break-up. Ivy is the front clients see but she's very low key. And doesn't want any commitments herself.
Becket's the Quarter Back who wants long-term and has to win Ivy over.
Can he win her over though? Especially when her secrets are shared...
Becket and Ivy slowly get to know one another through calls and texts but it’s not until Dax, another of Becket’s team mates needs Ivy’s help that the two actually meet.
Ivy runs an unusual business. Instead of helping couples get together and find love, she helps them break up. Safely and calmly. This is something that Dax needed help with and he hired Ivy. He took Becket with him for moral support.
Neither Ivy or Becket knows who the other is as they haven’t exchanged full names or pictures, so Becket is slightly confused and alarmed when he starts feeling attracted to Ivy, as he was developing feelings for the digital woman he’d been in contact with.
Ivy is a very guarded woman, she’s had to be for a long time due to a traumatic incident in her past but for some reason, Becket seems to get past every wall she has built around her heart just by being himself. And, it’s no wonder, this man is top of the line book boyfriend material, he’s hot as sin, sexy as all get out and hits all my swoony buttons. Ivy finds it hard to resist all this and falls hard, their texts varied between super cute and intensely hot. Their banter was often funny, sexy and flirty but had a few serious moments as they slowly opened up to each other.
Becket is just starting to think of a long term future with Ivy when her past comes back to slap her in the face. It causes trouble for Becket too but Ivy can’t tell him the truth and he has to make a heartbreaking decision.
Can they stay together or will this be the downfall that Ivy always envisioned for their relationship?
I freaking loved this book. I was sweet, sexy and had just the right amount of angst. Ivy and Becket were perfect foils for each other and I loved getting a little glimpse of EJ and Knox’s life after Love Me Knot. The other secondary characters were a riot too, especially Dax and tank, man, those guys were funny.
If you’re looking for a fun read that’s going to leave you with a smile on your face this you need to get Ditched today.
I think I could ramble on about him for much longer than is acceptable but really ladies, listen up he works the swoon factor with absolute aplomb! The book just pushed every button, it brought the biggest smile to my face and at times had me stretching for the tissues
Of course, the book wasn’t all about Becket, there was also an object to his affections. His eyes and heart were most certainly set on Ivy but he had been on the receiving end of her cold shoulder for longer than he was willing to accept any longer…why the cold shoulder, well that was the million-dollar question and as her story unfolded, I thought her character grew in stature, she made sense, if not entirely at least enough to ensure that I wanted what was best for her. I loved her sass, she was a mistress at dishing out attitude but then again, she often used it as a defense mechanism
The determination Becket showed as he set forth to get his girl was resolute, even though their initial interaction was far from stellar, he chipped away at her defences until he managed to get where he needed to be…underneath her skin because let’s face it once he was there, no sane woman was ever going to turn her back on him. They niggled and snarked at each other but it all added to the intensity that their relationship had, and when the flirting turned into so much more, I was whooping at my screen.
The author made sure to keep the ride interesting and it wasn’t all plain sailing, there were twists and turns all through the book, many of which I didn’t see coming but that when they hit, they certainly make their mark.
I loved the other characters that the author brought into play, especially Tank, and Dax…seriously they were fantastic, so funny.
Easy to sum up this is a story that you really need to read, they are characters that you will quickly come to love. A “do not put me down” read that will wake up all your emotions and do more than enough to keep you interested.
