Don't be put off by budget pricing, this really does a good job. For over 30 years I desoldered using traditional iron and desoldering tube. Not any more. I have previously been struggling with swapping capacitors on multilayer PC motherboards. This unit makes it a breeze. I set temp to 320C. Place iron bit over the solder joint and heat joint till capacitor start to feel movable then trigger the suction gun and solder is gone, allowing faulty cap to be removed, leaving the pcb holes free of solder. Better still is I found the gun is also brilliant for soldering new caps in, always tricky on tiny modern motherboard traces. Push capacitor through pcb holes. Trim long leads to length. Place hot bit over cropped leads and feed solder in. Makes a super-neat job. Clean area with isopropyl alcohol and you can't even see the repair. Get one of these stations and you'll not regret it.

Used for desoldering Op-Amps and capacitors from an Audio pre and power amp.
Once I'd found the right temperature it worked fine. After some blockages I took the precaution of clearing the solder channel with the tool supplied before switching off.
Adding a spot of new solder at the tip as you try and melt the intended target makes the process much quicker and avoids overheating.
It is tricky to clear blockages as it can only be done with the gun hot so half of it you can't touch. Be careful!

I have been really, really impressed with this desoldering station. It heats up quickly, it has great suction and is easy to take apart and clean. Out of the box, I was up and running in less than a couple of minutes and removing components like a champion. Is this essential? No, not really. You can obviously remove components by adding fresh solder and using a soldering iron. You can also use desoldering braid. However, the desoldering station is so ridiculously easy to use and very effective, that it gets the job done much, much quicker. My use case was for recapping old Amigas & general PCB repair, so on a day-to-day basis I'm not removing components all that often. However, the time saved and the neatness of the removal is worth its weight in gold. I would recommend this to any electronics tinkerer. You won't be disappointed.

Took a bit to get used to, but I found my temp and I'm flying. Upped my game so much.
Comes with plenty of pokey cleaney rods too.
I have friends who have ditched this in favour of a the hakko unit, but as a first unit, being able to replace the hand piece, and have a sturdy unit+stand is just fantastic, and the price is right.
Great suction on the thing. I have some really old wafer-thin PCBs that were being destroyed by my solder iron and were far too small to wick up with solder braid. This thing cleared out an hour's work in maybe 5 minutes. Even the solder blobbed away in tiny flush holes is reachable.

Was a bit dubious about buying this model but have seen plenty of good reviews on YouTube so thought I would take a plunge been after one for ages and i needed to resolder some large ICs . I'm so glad I brought it, price was extremely competitive was delivered extremely quickly and very well packaged. The actual item is the latest model with all the latest improvements, better desolder spring, thicker more solid reservoir for the solder. It's a lot better quality than the price makes you think it would be. Suction is very strong managed to completely remove all the solder from a 40 pin ic i had to remove and the chip just fell out! Good bye old desolder pump. Very impressed with device and very happy with the vendor, item is based in UK so arrived very quickly

DESOLDERING STATION, UK/EU PLUG, 80W D00672 By DURATOOL
This De-soldering station is exactly what I needed. It solves my issues of harvesting components from old boards to re-purpose. The iron works very well and heats up well. Stay a constant temperature and sucks away all the solder generally first time. I would say that the bit needs constant cleaning but this could just be the stock tips sent with this. Things are going well a couple of weeks in and this has allowed me to change surface mount ICs and other components easily.
I had watched a number of You tube videos and reviews and forum post but so far its all been great. Whilst other people have criticized the holder for the iron itself i find it works for me fine, as the iron cables hang down off my bench so it keeps the iron where it should be in the holder.
Not too noisy, and i order extra bits to try from another re seller. Will add my further thoughts later in the month.
Nice tool, and one that I would happily purchase for my college if we needed one soon.

I do quite a bit of work on vintage computers and games consoles, and this thing is an absolute life saver. I've had absolutely no issues with clogging so far, just keeping it clean as I go.
For complete safety if you're working on older stuff, I find sometimes little bits of solder can hold chip legs for example far stronger than it might look, and after using this it's worth giving it a quick blow over with a heat station just to make sure no damage is done on removal.

I spent a while reasearching different desoldering stations and arrived at the Duratool because it was the cheapest version of this generic, rebadged tool. At this price point (£69.20), it is excellent value and a good £20 cheaper than the next cheapest version.
It's not the best quality tool and is a bit noisy in use, but as i only bought it for occasional use i am sure this wont matter.
My only slight gripe concerns the difficulty of replacing the filter tube assembly once it has been removed for cleaning. The sliding locator at the back of the handset needs to retract another 5mm or so to enable the perspex tube, aluminium washer and filter pad to be replaced more easily.
All in all, a recommended purchase
