This installment of Darcy Walker is one of the most intense and emotional stories to date. Darcy is battling with her inner demons and her feelings for her best-friend-turned-boyfriend Dylan Taylor. She's trying to handle both of them without any repercussions to her family and friends. But at what cost? If she lives her life like the verb she is, she's sure to make Dylan regret getting involved with her. Yet, if she conforms and becomes a noun, then she will regret Dylan's love for her. She must try to find a balance between them both without hurting her family and her best friend. She must also do this while trying to stay alive, because when you are a verb, there is no shortage of drama.
A.J. Lape has created a truly unique character with Darcy Walker. There isn't another character that I can think of that has the same depth, humanity, and realism that she does. You can tell that A.J. has a great passion for these stories and personalities because they ooze with emotion and rawness.Read more ›
The whole series is so different from what I normally read but I have to say that this book is in a league of its own.
Darcy Walker is a character that I love. She acts without thinking and can get bored so easily.
On the outside Darcy can come across as having a hard shell but on the inside is a scared and insecure girl. In this book we get to see this vulnerability really show.
There are so many questions answered in this book.
I cried - a lot - with this book. I cried because of what was going on, what Darcy was saying, when Dylan cried. Now let me tell you about Dylan. At the beginning of this entire series I was not his biggest fan. In fact he annoyed the heck out of me because I thought of him as a control freak but after reading this series..... wow. I wanted to give him a hug and tell him everything will be okay.I wanted to hug Darcy and tell her not to worry and that she is a brave girl.
Ivy I wanted to shake. Seriously the girl annoys me but this book made me pity her.
Jagger made me think ooooo scary.
Ben.... well Ben.... what a fantastic character.
This series is truly one of the best series I have read in my lifetime. The author seems to have poured her heart and soul into this book and after every book I always wonder how she could top the last. This book was no exception.
Honestly I am sitting here now, after reading it, and wondering what to do next.
Darcy's world is truly a place you want to be part of. You can easily get lost in her world.
Thank you A.J Lape for this fantastic series. I series that I don't want to end and a series I would love to see as a movie.
Good read all round, hoping to hear we'll get to share Darcys senior year escapades soon

I have loved Darcy Walker from the get go. She is a snarky little spitfire of a gal and has majorly large cajones. She fights for the underdog because she is one herself. She has a band of misfits as her family because they are just like her. She's inquisitive by nature and doesn't want anyone to be taken advantage of or hurt. She's passionate, strong, sarcastic, and someone you want in your corner. I love her and wish she were real because we could all use a little Darcy Walker in our lives.
This is not a stand alone although she does a good job filling in back story but still if you haven't read the first three, I highly recommend reading them first.
