Product Description

So you've rolled out the perfect pasta sheets. You've turned them into fresh, homemade spaghetti, fettuccine or linguine strands. And much as you're tempted to eat them all right then and there, you want to hang-dry them for future use.

Now, before you run to your clothing closet and fetch the nearest plastic hanger, allow us to introduce the better pasta hanging apparatus: the beautiful pasta drying rack from DB Tech. Made from natural, traditionally unfinished wood, our rack features six 18-inchlong wooden dowels. Combine that with its 17-inch height profile, and this one rack gives you a total of nine feet of drying space. Unfinished wood also means no chemical paints or lacquers coming in contact with your food, and conveniently non-sliding hanging surfaces.

The dowels are positioned offset from one another to keep pasta strands from sticking and clumping together. Simple assembly consists of threading these dowels through the center post and then screwing the post into the stability-enhanced base. For disassembly, simply follow the same steps in reverse. All rack pieces lay flat and require only one inch of space height for storage.

I love to make homemade pasta but even a small batch is too much for just me, so drying the extra is definitely in order. This DB-Tech Wooden Pasta Drying Rack arrived at my front door early this morning and I've already put it to work. Assembly is dead easy, requiring but one screw, included. The unfinished wood is attractive and food safe. The six dowels that hold the pasta are removable for storage. I bundled mine together around the main post of the rack and held them in place with a new elastic hair tie. Even better - a roll of paper towels fits right over the bundled dowels and center post to make the rack multi-purpose in my rather small kitchen.

Grandma $0.02 - This nicely made DB-Tech Wooden Pasta Drying Rack is very functional and offers 9 feet of drying space in a very small foot print. Compares very favorably with similar racks I've seen at the King Arthur Flour store down the road from me and on the Chef's website. (I know what my son-in-law is getting for Christmas!)

As often as making fresh pasta - a favorite around holiday time especially - the mess in finding clean places to clean and flour and protect just to have space to hang the freshly cut pasta to dry is always problematic. Not any more.
With this well made, wooden, compact (takes very little space on the butcher block or counter) dryer with adjustable dowel pins allows the space to dry a lot of fresh pasta without decorating the kitchen temporarily. When in container it is small enough to keep by your pasta press yet large enough when assemble to dry all that left over pasta in any form that always seems to extra. According to the package insert it supplies hanging space for nine feet of drying pasta!

The wood is untreated (meaning safe form chemicals), easily washable, and one assembled it is actually attractive enough to allow it to stand in the kitchen until the past is dry and ready for storage. This is a must for chefs who include pasta making in their repertoire, and it makes a thoughtful gift for friends of like persuasion. Grady Harp, July 14

Not much to say except that this does exactly what I wanted it to do - provide a way for me to dry my homemade pasta. I do feel it was about 30% too expensive, but at the end of the day, I bought it anyway. For me, fulfilling its purpose was more important than price. My favourite part of this is that the base is very stable - the unit is attractive and does not appear flimsy in any way.

5.0 out of 5 stars great idea 12 Jan. 2014

I love this! Instead of covering my whole cupboard with towels and pasta to dry, I have this instead! I am able to dry 1 1/2 # of pasta on this rack. It is easy to assemble and store. It is stable, won't fall over even if I put pasta on one half and not the other.

This stand is probably very easy for someone who is handy to make themselves. I could actually hear my father and uncle in my head telling me I wasted my money that they could make for less when I first opened it. And it's probably true they could've. But I couldn't, I don't have the tools or know how. So for me it was well worth the money. It's easy to put together and take apart. Easy to clean, and easy to store. It holds plenty of pasta to keep it safe from my very nosy pets while it dries or just to wait until I'm ready to cook it. So essentially yeah, it's not much more than a few dowels but if you aren't, like me, able to figure out how to bore holes in them and build this yourself it's more than worth the money to buy it to make fresh pasta easier to handle, and finally have pasta that isn't stuck together.

3.0 out of 5 stars Product "seems" ok 4 Jan. 2015

The product itself was good. Well I assume it will be good as I gave it to my mom for xmas. The only thing that I found a bit odd was that the box the drying rack was in, arrive opened. To clarify, not the box it was shipped in but the actual Pasta Drying Rack box. I didn't think anything of it and wrapped it up and put it under the tree. When my mom opened the box the pasta rack wasn't even in the plastic bag and the main screw was missing. I'm pretty sure she can get a screw to work but it kind of sucks to give a xmas present to your mom that looks like it was already opened by someone else. My mom lives in New Zealand so this drying rack was nice and light and fit fine in her luggage. I hope she doesn't have to buy a new one if any more parts are missing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than advertised - you can't go wrong with this pasta rack! 18 Feb. 2015

Wow, I put this beautiful rack right to use. It worked perfectly for an entire batch of spinach pasta, with room to spare! Made the process so much easier than when I had to find room to spread all the pasta out on counters to dry. Very small footprint on my workspace; pasta dried in less than half the usual time, too. Hubby wanted to make me one, but was very impressed with the look and workmanship of this rack, said he couldn't have made one as nice for the cost. I keep the upright post screwed on to the base, and used a cardboard tube around the pole to hold the arms & pole together for mor compact storage. Top notch pasta rack - I am very pleased!

Quite serviceable! I use an empty paper towel tube to place over the central mast, and place the removable drying rods in the tube for convenient storage. You could, of course, have it do double duty as a paper towel dispenser at the same time!
This rack provides a very comfortable amount of space for drying a decent amount of pasta.
I arrived quickly...in good packaging...is comfortably sturdy enough. I find it to have been the best selection of those available for selection.
It carries my personal seal of approval!!
