the first coated strings i tried were the elixer nanoweb which i found slippery and put me off coated strings for ages but i decided to give these d'addarios a go since i like their regular strings and i found these had much more grip and felt much better to play then the elixers

Good strings, can feel a bit rough after a while, but they sound amazing on recordings. You can play really quietly and it will sound full and heavy, the strings really do last a long time too, ive been purchasing them from everywhere for the past 6 years everywhere I travelled

It all depends on your taste... If you want a bright tone then these are for you. Has a light feel to it and completely transformed my Yamaha F370.

But if you want a more balanced or mellow tone then these aren't for you. Even the 6E has a bright tone.

I've had these on my acoustic guitar for a good few weeks now. I have to say that I am very pleased with the overall performance. They play very nicely, either plucked or strummed, detail, depth and clarity have been very good. In the past I have used the Ernie Ball Titanium coated strings, which are also good strings, but I think the D'Addario's have bit of an edge over them. Can't comment yet about how long they last, but if the set on my Fender Telecaster are anything to go by, it's going to be quite a while!! The set on there have been on since April, and it is now November, and in the 7 months they have been on there they have been very impressive!! They STILL do not require replacing as yet, and there is no evidence of the coating coming of the strings, which is usually the first indication they are about to deteriorate.
    Very highly recommended!!

What can I say. I used to buy Ernie Balls extra light, out of instinct really. EB's are good to excellent strings and never let you down. However, as they say, a change is as good as a rest, so I decided to buy something different. And BOY are these D'Addario strings different. They have a very clean sound and are very easy to bar-chord & bend.. Well worth the extra money.

    Hope this review helps?

Seriously not happy,And i don't say that very often :( Put these on my acoustic and tuned her up with top electronic tuner and by ear,Very hard to tune correctly and after seven minutes of playing,Guess what? PING,Not good in anyones book,I thought i would try these as all other reviews are middle to good,I am going back to and staying with my Elixir's,I should have listened to my own voice before purchasing,I knew i shouldn't have gone to these strings,All in a days work i suppose,But at the price i am not a happy person,Lexi's here i come,Electric and Acoustic,At least the Elixir are smooth as well,These are not.

Think they are expensive? Well they last for months; a coated string at last that really delivers. I'll keep it short they are simply the best strings I have ever heard / played. Over the life cycle they are proberly 'cheaper' than the alternative because they just last and last!

I was persuaded to try strings these instead of my usual Elixirs and gave them a go for their slightly lower price. Never again - they're a heavy feeling string that makes the neck feel slow and cumbersome and the string gauge feel more like a set of 12s than 11s. plus tonally I found them hard and completely lacking in the customary warmth and character that my usual brand provide. They were in fact so poor that I took them off after 5 hours and stuck on a plain old ordinary set until the replacements arrive. If you're a basic strummer you'll probably get on fine with these but if you're a bit further on than that then I would advise you to avoid.
