Review

There will be many books published this year on the 70th anniversary of D-Day. None will match this for giving a human dimension to what was in the end an extraordinary human endeavour. I challenge you to read this book without the tears starting in your eyes - in part at the sadness for those who cannot feature here because they have gone, either on the beaches or with the passage of time afterwards. But mostly out of pride that at this crucial hour for freedom we were lucky enough to have such men and women to rely on. --Paddy Ashdown

Robin Savages poignant photographs are a unique record of some of the people who fought so valiantly in Normandy. He has superbly captured the indomitable spirit of these proud men and women just in time, for we will never see their like again. --Max Arthur

A poignant reminder of the real human cost that was paid for liberty and is still being paid today. A story of real lives that we should treasure. --Rt Hon Dr Liam Fox MP

I have no reservations about being a cheerleader for this book. It has had an effect way beyond my expectations and I hope it does really well. It isn t often I find myself so affected by a book. I salute the author. He was making something deeply personal and yet he shared it with all of us. I hope and trust it has the same impact on you. --War History Online

Superb photographic record. --This England

To Normandy itself and a book that brought out real emotion in me when I first saw it. D-Day The Last of the Liberators is a stunning collection of images and stories of a select band of British veterans of the Normandy Campaign. I had the honour to meet some of them at the book launch and they were awe-inspiring. Sadly, one of them has since passed away. The photography by Robin Savage is beautiful and my copy of this book will be staying with me for as long as I am breathing. --War History Online

"Beautifully photographed colour portraits of World War II British veterans posed in the Normandy landscape they helped liberate from German occupation make this 96-page, large-format book extremely poignant." Toy Soldier & Model Figure
