Product Description

The 19th Century Northwest Coast is the backdrop for this all-female reworking of the 'Wuthering Heights' story. Soaring passions and plummeting necklines are the order of the day as fiery sculptress Cynara (Johanna Nemeth) and expatriate Byron (Melissa Hellman) enact a passionate affair.

This film was beyond awful. When I first got it and saw it was only 40 minutes long, I was disappointed. But quite honestly, I've never wasted 40 minutes of my life so spectacularly.

If I look over the style of the film (poetry reading over images of the two women acting out the story) which wasn't to my liking, I still can't find any single thing I liked. The way the scenery and camera work was done, it looked like a cheap porno. The women were completely unbelievable as the characters of the poem (which in itself was tedious and cliched). It was full of longing looks across a room, or a horse or a beach, supposedly meaningful. And it was 'nicely' rounded off with tacky piano music.

I've seen many many lesbian films now, thanks to Amazon Rental. Many of them are bad, but I would rather be forced to sit in a room watching something like The Monkey's Mask on a loop for a week before ever seeing this film again.

I really cannot understand how anyone could give this more than 1 star (if that), this is pretentious, art house rubbish at it's best - in that it's terrible. You spend the whole time thinking something 'might' happen - it doesn't and then it ends. Your life is too short to watch this.

At only 40 minutes long, I was expecting great things from Ms Conn. After 5 minutes in I thought, well this is a waste of time. Then as I was perservering with the short film, I started to get the concept of the piece, and really enjoyed the other 35 minutes. The filming was a little cheesy, but the imagery was very lovely and the final love scene was very nice, and was as it should be for the film. I can say that I enjoyed it, but it wasn't exactly like her classic Claire of the Moon.
