5.0 out of 5 stars No words can do this justice 13 Dec. 2012

I am almost 44 years old, I've listened to ALOT of music, all across the board, and if someone said to me "You can only listen to one CD for the rest of your life what would it be"? it would be Cycles by Redbone. I wouldn't even have to think about it, EVERY offering on this CD is a GIFT. I will never, ever get tired of listening to this, it is my instant mood elevator. I would give it a MILLION and five stars - Love you Lolly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars First time 18 Oct. 2013

At first, this is one of those kind of albums where you listen to one or two songs and say it doesn't sound good, but if your in the right mood and situation this CD sounds real good. I loved this album because I liked Redbone from the first time I heard them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally these Redbone classics are on CD. The wait is over 4 Jan. 2013

Redbone has been tragically overlooked when it comes to reissuing the original albums. For decades all that was available was a greatest hits or two. Then we started to see a few of the original classic albums come out. Finally after decades of waiting we are seeing the later of releases from Rebone make it to CD. This is a great album. The digipak and packaging on this album beautiful. Great package and the sound quality is stellar. Get it now while it is in print. Once it is gone it will become impossible to find and command a ridiculously high price just like the earlier Redbone albums do now.
5.0 out of 5 stars Underrated! 30 Aug. 2013

Great Album. I don't understand why these tracks never got air play. These performers are naturals, it's a shame they weren't given more credit.

5.0 out of 5 stars The King Kong Beat Goes Disco 29 April 2013
By Janet Chandler - Published on Amazon.com

There has never been another group in the history of rock music like the Native-American group Redbone. Their unique sound and style was so different from all the other groups out there. What made them interesting was their evolving sound that came from a blend of rock, soul, blues and Cajun music along with their own American-Indian music heritage thrown into the mix. Their seventh album "Cycles" released in 1977 is a perfect example of their constantly evolving sound. This is an out and out disco album. Far different from their first albums with the "King Kong" beat that fans of the group are so use to hearing. It is also a fun and lively album as well that any fan of Redbone would want to add to their music collection. I am by no means a huge fan of disco music though there certainly was some great music that came from the era. And while I prefer the "King Kong" beat from the earlier Redbone albums I find I can't get enough of listening to this record.

Every song has a groove and a beat to it that is bound to persuade you to get down and shake your booty. You can certainly hear that Native-American beat as it is set to a disco sound. There is no doubt this is a Redbone album even if it is disco. Not a bad song in the bunch but among the better ones include ""Gamble (Take A Chance On Me)", "Don't Say No" and "Dancing Bones" which has quickly become one of my all time favorite songs by Redbone. If I have any complaints about this album it would be that there is no bonus tracks on the disc. In the other Redbone albums that have recently been released on CD ("Already Here" and "Beaded Dreams Through Turquoise Eyes") they managed to have a few bonus tracks. But none here. I can only assume that there wasn't any forgotten recordings made during the production of "Cycles" to include on the disc. Nonetheless this is still one great album that anyone who is a fan of Redbone would want to get or anyone who is a fan of disco music would like to get.
