- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 March 2014I returned this cape. It's very heavy and bulky, being made of pvc rather than nylon. I'm sure it's totally waterproof, so it could suit someone who only takes it out of the cupboard when it's actually raining, but if you're a daily cyclist like myself, who is looking for a compact and lightweight cape that can be carried on every trip, I think you would find this cape to be too cumbersome.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 January 2014This item is perfect, covers you completely, excellent quality and well worth the money. The only negative thing I would say is that there are hooks on the inside of the cape which are supposed to hook onto the handle bars and stop from blowing off whilst cycling. These are not fitted in the correct place for tall people and when I attached them I wasn't able to turn left or right easily with it being dangerous, so I just gripped the cape from the inside which was fine and the cape was big enough to cover the whole of the basket in the front and was held in place by that. I would highly recommend this item.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 September 2013I love this cape and it makes quite a talking point hanging in our hallway. Keeps the rain off, easy to get on and off, hood fits snugly under helmet. My only issue with it is that signalling is quite tricky with it on! I got a medium and am a slim but tallish woman (i.e. fairly medium-sized, if not smaller), but maybe should have got the large, as that might have more slack to be able to poke your arm out under the sides, which are quite taut once the cape is over the handlebars.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 July 2013I have just taken receipt of this item and am disappointed in the size of the cape. I ordered a large size as I'm 185cm tall but the cape I received is way too small.
It is only possible to hook the ties to the handlebars if you bend down like a racing cyclist; you'd need the front to be an extra 20-30cm longer to be comfortable with it whilst sitting in the saddle. The length from the ties to the bottom is fine to hang over the handlebars but the ties are too high up; there needs to be more material here.
It might be better labelled as medium and the medium labelled small!
The image showm with the product is also a little misleading as the front appears to be longer than the back but the back is actually longer than the front.
It is well made of a good quality material (nylon I think) and appears perfect in all other respects as far as I can see.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 June 2014This arrived - not exactly promptly, but not late. The quality seemed good, the colour was as expected. The item, however, is not fit for purpose. To me, a 'Cycle Cape', by definition, is to be used for cycling. However, on trying it on and attempting to use it, I found that the hand holes are so close together that, once I have put my hands through them it is impossible to then hold the handlebars on my bike.I contacted the seller to explain this and received a somewhat lofty response that I could return it, but if it 'was not found to be faulty' then I would have to pay the postage. Since the design itself is at fault, it was unlikely they would accept my criticism. I assured them that I was returning it and expected my postage to be refunded as well, since it was not fit for the purpose for which it was sold. I received no response and I see my reason for return has been quietly changed from 'faulty' to 'customer return'. Please be aware of this flaw if you are buying one of these - I can't be bothered to take it any further but it's frustrating to lose time and money over poorly designed products.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 November 2013It may sound stupid but never having used a cycle cape I would have really like some instructions with this garment. It has two "gaps" at the front through which your arms can go(?), but if you use them your hands are, in effect, tied together, albeit about 18 inches apart, so you cannot use hand signals, if you fell off you would not be able to use your hands to soften the fall.
If you don't use the gaps at the front, and, as you might think, drape the cape over the front of your handlebars then there are some wrist loops which again have the effect of "tying your hands together". If you don't use the wrist loops the cape has a tendency to blow back up in your face in windy conditions.
I feel the garment would only be of any use in vertical rain on very quiet country roads.
The reason I would have liked some instructions is that the garment appears so unusable that I feel I must be missing something or doing something wrong.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 January 2012It is the right colour - yellow - with a reflective safety stripe on the back. It has internal hand holds for those who prefer to have the cape over the handlebars but also sealable side vents for those who prefer to have arms outside of the cape in warmer weather. The rear provides ventilation with a limiter and a good overlap to stop water entering. The "hat" is actually a fully attached hood which can be fastened around the neck and will fit under a helmet with its chin strap done up. I assume anybody using this product on a bike would already have purchased waterproof overtrousers.
Although not advertised as such, it has turned out to be an excellent emergency raincoat for a schoolboy as it has the room to accomodate both backpack and kitbag as well as keeping his blazer and trousers dry. It is easy fold up and put into a bag pouch but make sure the cape (not the boy!) gets hung up in the porch to dry out at the end of the day.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 October 2014Works, but it tears apart easily.
