Manufacturer's Description
The Cyber Snipa Stinger takes the final step in the evolution of gaming mice.
The Stinger is the master of macro; possessing onboard memory, macros can be recorded and set to any of the 6 customizable buttons of a macro profile. With 3 separate profiles, the Stinger gives the possibility of a staggering 18 onboard macros at any one time!
The Stinger also features fully adjustable dpi. The software allows the user to select 4 different dpi levels, ranging anywhere from 400 to 3200 dpi, which can be cycled through by pressing the mouse's dpi button.
The gaming grade laser engine operates at over 7000 frames per second, offers a maximum of 3200 dpi and features a super fast USB report rate of 1000Hz, meaning the response time drops from the standard 8ms to 1ms!
The top of the line laser engine and the array of features means this is a mouse like no other.

This is the seventh mouse I have owned as I have worn the others out from over-use, gaming and too many repairs from my house rabbit chewing the wire!
As an avid gamer I am sensitive to every last detail when it comes down to mice. The normal mouse just doesn't cut it when you need good response time and a highly sensitive positioning. I found that often LED mice needed very defined surfaces and a lot of space to move around or they were useless.
This mouse however was a breath of fresh air. First aesthetics: It's large but comfortable for all users that have tried it, no matter what size hand they have. Sweat doesn't build up like with some mice and all buttons are in the perfect place. The lighting system is intuitive and clever - not to mention looking great. The red wire is good and long, ultra-flexible and the USB connection is gold-plated for speed. Unfortunately there is no way to open the mouse up fully for a clean and the teflon feet scratch really easily but it is shipped with replacements. The weights are a great - and much needed - addition but the compartment for them is a little tricky to open. You'll get into it though and then you can essentially leave it forever - if you want to try different weights there is a handy weights box to keep the others in and you'll get used to opening and closing the compartment.
Whilst I have used laser mice before, this is the first to have on-the-fly dpi changes and a macro set. I always found good dpi laser mice to be overly responsive and difficult to use gaming because of overshoot. I would have to manually tune down sensitivity in different games and that would leave me feeling a bit cheated. This however is a totally different story.
After the week getting used to it and learning to use it most effectively I tought myself dpi use. When running or chasing or moving quickly in a game a high dpi is a huge help. You end up cornering much faster and being able to turn 180degrees in an instant should you get shot. A quick click and the dpi will shoot down instantly to enable a much more accurate shot. It takes a while to work out the speeds that are best for you but it's worth it.I have found two dpi settings enough and so have programmed the mouse to flip between two rather than one. If I die or need to check the dpi, the light on the wheel tells me instantly what setting I'm on.
Macros are without a doubt for the more advanced user but the software on the CD that comes with the mouse is very easy to get along with. The macros let you program any button on the mouse to initiate a set of clicks, button presses... anything really that can be done on the mouse or keboard. There are also 3 different presets (with colours for identification) which allow you up to 7 different options each. For example: RED is my "gaming setting" where the middle button now buys me my fave CS:S guns when pressed, the "back" and "forward" buttons bet which team is going to win, the "left scroll" button pulls off a quick sticky-bomb or rocket jump for TF2 and the "right scroll" button fires six times in 1 second and then reloads. The only thing that could be keeping you back now is internet LAG. It's a sure-fire way to do well and I totally reccomend it!
Pros:
1. Good grip, look, feel and shape - not sweaty to hold for long periods
2. DPI settings are very well designed and useful
3. Macros are very powerful
4. Good CD included with driver and macro setup software
5. Intuative lighting and looks really good
6. Good length and colour wire
7. Really fast - really good response time
Cons:
1. Weights compartment is hard(ish) to open - you'll get used to it
2. Teflon feet scratch easily (but there is a replacement shipped with it)
3. Difficult to clean inside the mouse. Doesn't fully open up.
4. On the fly dpi and macros may not be needed by everyone
All in all a fabulous mouse - I have not found better and it's few minor flaws pale in comparison with the great features and great speed. Worth it's price tag and worth your custom.
I must say I was very impressed - The mouse is quite large, and nicely sculpted ergonomically, so it fits my hand perfect. I have quite large hands so those with small hands may struggle with this size. The extra weights are a bonus and will let heavy handed players add extra resistance. I can play long online sessions with no pain or aches using this mouse. The overall finish and feel of the mouse is very nice, and the rubber coated thumbpad is very comfy.
The buttons and mouse wheel are all firm without being overly sensitive, and feel positive and tactile giving the player a very responsive gaming session, and they are all well laid out with no stretches needed to access them.
I found the four dpi settings a bit awkward, as you can only scroll through them in one direction, however you can easily change them with the included software, so I set 2 at 800, 1 at 1600, and one at 2500. The dpi switch is far better than the one on the intelliscope, and the scroll wheel changes colour to let you know what dpi mode you are in. If the mood takes you you could just as easily set all 4 setting to the same dpi or whatever config takes your fancy to fit your playing style. Its nice to have the choice.
Being an fps player, I have not tried any of the macro's, but I imagine for those who do a lot of programming or play mmorpgs they would be a bonus. They seem easy to programme and you can have up to 3 modes, giving a lot of flexibility.
One word of warning, the mouse ships with the side 4/5 buttons in macro mode - this means games do not see them as buttons. You need to go into the macro editors advanced mode and uncheck the 4/5 tick boxes for your games to see them - or program a macro.
In conclusion, I really like this mouse for its comfort and tactile feel, and cannot see me going back to razers over priced, over rated products. The mouse ships with a spare set of replacement feet which is a nice touch.
My usual gripe is that cyber snipa still seem incapable of making an ambidextrous mouse, there are no buttons at all on the right hand side of the mouse. I appreciate only 10% of the population is a lefty but they really need to address this issue.
Its well balanced, ergonomic (as long as you are right handed!) and very smooth to use.
The optional weights may seem gimmicky but i found that loading it up did give you a far more positive feel.
The buttons are well placed and macro loading into the programmable buttons is pretty easy as well using the bundled software. The mouse has 3 profiles on board (red, green and blue) selected via a smooth recessed button right on the middle of the top surface of the mouse.
Its worth noting that the macros are uploaded to the device and reside in flash memory, so if you happen to move your mouse between PC's then your profiles are always present in the device.
Switching between the 4 different DPI modes is via a button on top of the mouse, and the scroll wheel illuminates a different colour for whichever mode you are in... off, red, green or blue (in order of sensitivity)
To go back a year or so i've tried mice from microsoft, logitech, razer (the supposed god of gaming devices, and to be brutally honest i wasn't impressed with either of the 2 razer offerings i tried out).. this cyber snipa bit of kit won full marks with me pretty much from the outset...
If you love your PC gaming and want a mouse that does exactly what it says on the box, then you wont go far wrong with one of these little babies...
Cyber Snipa... I bow to your excellence..
