There isn't really much of use to say for CUT; the script is just a bunch of slasher flick clichés jumbled together into a scenario that almost makes semi-sense [and it doesn't come of as in tongue in cheek], all of the acting is rather amutuer [not even Molly Ringwald seems to be trying], the identity of the killer becomes obvious to the viewer long before it does to the characters, and the ending seemed to be made up on the spot.

To sum it up; I quickly became bored watching CUT and wished that I'd not wasted money on it.

I was way pleased with this fun and scary slash flick with a ironic supernatural wink (and finger up possibly) to the pointless ongoing sequel hell of slasherdom. After all, critic Barry Norman's daughter gave it a good review and she hates horror films! This Aussie gem embarrasses fully the useless, shallow fright-free high-school/college kid slasher-flicks that pour out of the US with its acting, direction, simple yet witty plot and impressive gore considering the low budget, plus good use of familiar but tense enviroment. Enough witty jokes abound-references to films not necessarily better than this at all are very kind-this is hardly a desperate relation when it thanks the influences so loudly and frequently. And Kylie Minogue features in a 5 minute cameo at the start. It's typical this film's come in for criticism-usually whatever Saint Kylie graces can't be wrong-but then it's hardly her they were attacking. For herself, her character's straight-talking insults are pretty funny. Fans may not want to see her in a flick like this (but again why not?) but it should be remembered this was the last thing she shot before she returned from pop's scrapyard for her 2000 album 'Light Years' after the disatrous indie approach of the mid-to late 90s. Ms Minogue plays an amateur director here, shooting her 1st slasher 'Hot-Blooded' but a late night shoot is Cut short-as is a certain person and the filming folds.

The decisison is made to abort the film and leave it gather dust and the killer disappears with it, but as the 80s turn into the 90s, each time a new person reattempts its completion, they suffer misfortune to. Cut to the present day (sorry!

This is a low budget, badly filmed try hard slasher/horror movie. It wants to be Urban Legend meets Friday 13th but is not remotely scary, in fact it's laugh out loud bad.
We have had every single type of horror scenario and this movie is just a mix of most of them. Guy in mask killing people, kids getting picked off one by one, token couple in love......it goes on. If someone said this movie was shot with no script and no credible ending I would believe every word. This must have been when The Scary Movie trilogy got their ideas from.
Nothing, not even the token 'celebrity' Molly Ringwold nor the sweet but very wooden acting of Kylie Minogue could make this DVD a success.
2 star rating one for Kylie & one for Molly for having this film forever on their filmographies!
