Very east to read and understand. Great for all knitters/budding designers.
I love it.
-Notes on adjusting patterns
If you've looked at Wendy's blog (Knit and Tonic), the patterns are similar to what you'd see in the book: scrumptious yarns (lovely colours), simple but stylish patterns, and attractive styling. There are a fair lot of patterns in here, but before you go on to the collective theme of the patterns (hats, scarves/shawls, hand warmers, gauntlets, leg warmers), there are points on how to calculate for the sizes you wish to knit, using simple Math.
Stand out designs are: Sangria Shawlette (uses a hank of sock yarn), Sand Dollar Slouch (a really cool beanie with interlocking cables and moss stitch), and Smocked (a reversible smocked scarf). The tube sock hand warmers and the poncho (stop trying to make Ponchos happen, Bernard) are the two weak designs in an otherwise strong book.
Most of the yarns are North American brands (Berroco, Koigu, Dream in Colour Classy) but they can be easily subbed with the yarns over here, since the tension required is fairly standard.
I've yet to knit from this book, so I'd advise that you check for errata before you get settled. A lot of these knit books tend to have one pattern that's been mucked around by the devil's printer.
