Powerful warm light ideal for up lighting trees and tall plants

I wanted powerful 'stay-on all night' solar garden spotlights to illuminate large plants and trees in my garden. The remarkable and, to me, most pleasing feature is the warm effect of the light they project. These photos of an 8 ft potted acer tree and a jurassic sized gunnera plant show true colour rendition of the light in action in a pitch black garden. The light is indeed powerful and bright with a big sized solar panel. Powerbee have always come up trumps for me, and this light is definitely an ace in my hand.

Good quality LED solar spot light

Very impressed with the build quality of this item. I bought it to illuminate my house number on the shaded side of my garden wall so needed the solar panel to be separate from the spot light. I have fitted the spot light and solar panel on opposite sides of the wall with the 2metre cable running through the wall, with the excess cable hidden in the wall cavity. The light and solar panel only come with ground spikes, so I had to add some extra brackets to fix the units to both sides of my garden wall. Something Powerbee could possibly look at? Before fitting the light in position I tested it in various positions around my garden. I loved the fact that when the light was hidden discreetly in a raised planter you could easily move the spot around like a search light without disturbing the orientation of the solar panel. I did move the item about a dozen times around my garden putting the unit down on rough stone and gravel and there is not a mark on the paint work. I am very impressed with the light output and even faced the solar panel away from the sun for a few days as an experiment. Obviously the light was nowhere near as bright but the beam was still bright enough to see 15 metres down the path. I will be buying two more of these units to light my paths for winter.

Despite having bought other solar spotlights for the garden, this one exceeds all expectations. It now lights up our arbour seating area and is still lit when I get up some 8 hours later. The wires are much stronger too than other solar lights and the actual solar panel is very large but not intrusive. The extra long cord means that you are able to position the light in areas which do not necessarily receive the sun, whereas the panel can be placed in an area where daylight and sun are present. Even on a cloudy day the light will last at least 7 hours. #

My third purchase of of one of these lights. The solar panel is big enough to ensure they work for 8 hours in the summer, maybe three in the depths of winter. Robust.

Further comment added 14 April 2015. All three lights still working well. This time of year staying on for about 8/9 hours after a sunny day. Although they seem to be very narrowly focused when you look directly at the beam, in fact they cover a suitably wide area up to about 25ft away. Still a satisfied customer.

Further comment added 13 December 2017. Two of the three lights continue to work very well but the third light failed last year after water got inside. Although the front hood and glass can be removed, the various bits of wiring and components cannot be accessed easily or cleaned out. Where I had positioned this one the hood lip was not centrally placed on top, so rain and dirt must have got in over time. No amount of squirting WD40 inside behind the lens has made any difference.

This is my second purchase of Powerbee Custodian solar lights. The first set (2 of) was bought last year (2012). As Replacing my solar lights seemed to an annual event I wanted something that would last for more than one year. I liked what I read about Powerbee so thought I'd give them a try. When the arrived (on time) I inspected their quality and thought this might be just what I need. I purchased other solar a couple of months prior to the Powerbee. While their light has been estinguished ( and gone to that great garden in the sky), my Powerbee are still shining brightly.
The first set I bought keeps my large balcony well lite, which is suffient but the second set will kill the shadows. I am very pleased with the item and the supplier and would recommend both to anyone thinking of making a purchase.

I looked at a lot of solar lights and also bought some that were rubbish but this is the best one of them all. It has a bright spotlight which shines well into the night. It has a large solar panel and a long wire so you can position it to face the sun and the spotlight can be placed elsewhere you don't have to sit them side by side. We live in the country with no street lights and only a couple of neighbours so it can get pretty dark in winter. I am now looking to buy another one to put at the other end of the drive.

I have purchased probably 9 of these over the last couple of years.
They provide an incredibly bright beam for a solar product.
The long cable from the panel allows the lamp to be placed in a dark corner (to illuminate a tree trunk for example) and the solar panel a few metres away to catch the sunlight.

I have two of these to uplight a summer house in the darkest corner of the garden.

They have still managed to do this in the winter and are now getting brighter as the days draw out.

Any negative comments will be from people who expect a mains security light beam which you will not get however you will get free....Lighting and enough to uplift any building or planting subtly.

If you want Heathrow landing lights go to Homebase and buy cheap mains security Lighting.

I have had these for a year now and just about to buy two more.
