From the Back Cover

THE END IS NEAR BUT NOT UNTIL THE FINAL BATTLE IS FOUGHT

The Chairman has been slaughtered, along with Hell's first almost-successful attempt at creating an Anti-Christ, using Carlos Rivera's body-double. Dante's son has also been vanquished. Now the evil Lilith sits on Dante's old throne, a prize won in her negotiations with Cain. She is The Vampire Council's new Chairwoman and Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

THE CURSED

All Lilith needs is Damali's newly discovered angelic powers to allow her evil progeny to walk through the veil between worlds and usher in the true Anti-Christ. Damali and her crew enter a desperate race against time to stop Lilith even if doing so brings the Neteru Councils out of the clouds and into the Biblical Holy Lands and kicks off the Armageddon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ask Me How I Know? 13 Sept. 2009
By Mama Toph - Published on Amazon.com

This is the 9TH book in the Vampire Huntress Legends series and Damali Richards Rivera has become even stronger as a Neteru. Her love for her husband and her team has made her one of the most dangerous women on the planet, but still she can't get that husband of hers to understand her position as a Neteru and a leader. Carlos refuses to see her as she was when they first bonded. Now that she is "The Mrs" he seems to feel she should take the safe and sure way to do things. What Damali and all the female Guardians know, is in this fight against the ultimate evil, there is no safe and sure way to do anything. Lilith has now gained her husband's favor and been elevated to a position that had only been held by males. The secret of the heir apparent was a life saving bargaining chip for her, but it hasn't dampened her taste for revenge against the Neteru's and the Neteru council. A pre Armageddon fight of epic proportions is started by Carlos and the male Guardians with a driveby attack on Hell itself. Not only does this jump start the Armageddon countdown, but it opens the door for some serious retaliation in one of the most insiduous forms imaginable for a married couple. Without spilling the beans, so to speak, I can only say that this book will keep you reading almost until the very last page. The Team has now moved into a new level of the fight, but in the words of both Damali and Carlos, "Ask me how I know?" Well, get the book and see for yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is one of the best urban fantasies in fact the whole series is 12 July 2007

She is Lilith the wife of the Lord of Hell and he blames her for the death of vampires he had plans for; but instead of torturing or killing her, he forgives her because she has done the one thing that makes him happy. She has created a child with him and hidden the embryo inside a hybrid-angel residing in the land of Nod. The inhabitants of Hell can't enter there and the people who fight for the Most High are forbidden to enter there.

Lilith knows she is in trouble because nothing grows is the place of banishment and if her husband finds out, he will be furious, a situation she wants to avoid at all costs. While husband and wife share a romantic two weeks together it ends when, Carlos, a Neturu married to Damali (also a Neturu) causes total chaos in Hell. He is helped by fellow Neturu Adam who breaks the first seal signifying the beginning of Armageddon. When Lilith tries to mess with Damali,, she enters Hell and deals Lilith and her minions deadly blow. However Lilith has a plan to free the angel-hybrid by using Damali as the instrument ensuring the birth of the antichrist. Carlos and Damali who don't know anything about her plans find themselves in a struggle that could kill them and all they hold dear.

THE CURSED is a great horror novel filled with superb characters that one easily understands as one set works for the Creator and the others work for the devil. Lilith is particularly well drawn as a villain readers will love to hate. There is plenty of action in this fast paced work with the Neturus and the dead battling one demonic attack after another. L.A. Banks is one of the best horror authors writing today.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but... 6 Aug. 2007

Although this book was good it was not her best. The Bitten still has front runner as the best in the series.

Lillith, however, is a b&^%ch to reckon with. She has so many twisted tricks up her Chairwoman's sleeves that some later come back to bite her. That part of the book was the funniest. She also has something brewing in Nod that could knock the world off its axis.

What I did like about this book is that Damali and Carlos finally are stepping up to the plate as leaders. All the drama from the previous books have shaped and molded them into the Neterus they need to be. We saw that in The Wicked but it is amplified in this one. (Can anyone say Creation Point. On fire!!! That scene burnt up the pages. Hot!!! Carlos is the man!!!) When you read the book, you'll know what I'm talking about.

What I didn't like about the book is I wanted to see more scenes with Yonnie. I feel the brother needs his just due too. His heart(even though without a heartbeat)hasn't been right since Tara.

I recommend this book one hundred percent. But this series is not for folks who cannot come outside of the box and allow the imagination to flow. She brings it and entwines her knowledge of various cultures, myths, etc to develop it into a masterpiece that harmonizes on the pages.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE CURSED- L.A.Banks has Done it Again! 24 July 2007

This is the ninth book in the VHLS series! And while some series let you down, L.A. Banks just keeps on getting better! Damali, Carlos and her fellow Guardians are hot on the trail of Lilith and the Unnamed One!

With the Land of Nod in upheaval no holds are barred, the Good must take whatever means are necessary to fight the evil that constantly rears it ugly head!

As each Guardian finds itself with new powers greater alliances are forged. Damali, our Neteru along with her husband Male Neteru Carlos fight alongside Valkyrie in Nod, hoping to bring peace back to the land that Cain destroyed!

This time the Guardians are not taking prisoners, and Lilith is using whatever means she feels necessary, which includes trying to use Yolando!

The Cursed is filled with twists and turns at every page, if you want adventure, mystery, macabre, love and history read this series! You won't be disappointed!

I have to admit, when I first started this series I thought it was gonna be another vampire read with a twist. This is anything but and so much more! The series is very well thought out and the pictures and places that she paints with her words are masterpieces. The character development continues to amaze me and there's no way that one could read this and not begin to dig deeper into thought. It's sad that the author left us so early! She was clearly before her time.
