About the Author

CAROLINE BAINBRIDGE is Senior Lecturer in Media and Cultural Studies at Roehampton University, UK, where she is also Co-Director of the Centre for Research in Film and Audio-Visual Cultures (www.crfac.org). She is the co-editor of a special edition of Journal for Cultural Research on trauma in the field of visual culture.

SUSANNAH RADSTONE is Reader in the School of Social Sciences, Media and Cultural Studies at the University of East London, UK. She is co-editor of Public Emotions and the companion volumes Contested Pasts: The Politics of Memory and Regimes of Memory. Her forthcoming books include On Memory and Confession: The Sexual Politics of Time, and Mapping Memory

MICHAEL RUSTIN is Professor of Sociology at the University of East London, and a Visiting Professor at the Tavistock Clinic, UK. He is author of The Good Society and the Inner World: Psychoanalysis, Culture, Politics and Reason and Unreason: Psychoanalysis, Science and Politics, and, with Margaret Rustin, of Narratives of Love and Loss: Studies in Modern Children's Fiction and Mirror to Nature: Drama Psychoanalysis and Society.

CANDIDA YATES is Senior Lecturer in Psychosocial Studies at the University of East London, UK. Her research interests include masculinity, affect, cinema and cultural change and she has published related articles in journals such as Psychoanalytic Studies and Psychoanalysis, Culture and Society. Her forthcoming book is Masculine Jealousy and Contemporary Cinema.
