This story was bleak and depressing to read, but exceptionally well written! It paints a picture of a life I hope none of us will ever see! It's a dark take on animal farm... Lol

Excellent writing, but not something I would read again...

The last days of a democratic system in collapse, ruled by a dictator and controlled by police; a futuristic nightmare of endless queues for depleted resources, protest marches against an inaccessible Administrator and few real people left. Iradon's request is simple but he faces insuperable obstacles; his only possession will get him nowhere. He is a man pushed to extremes, with nothing to lose. Depressingly apocalyptic.

A dark tale of desperate, almost Orwellian times, where the individual is oppressed and bureaucracy rules with a brutal efficiency. A very quirky tale of a future that could be just around the corner especially during the current financial climate. On the surface this might seem rather depressing; but the authors masterly writing is a joy to read and you can't help but identify with the main character as the author teases you toward it's twisted end. Highly, hugely and deservedly recommended.

This is the second published work I have read by this author. This short, (which I read on my Mum's kindle), charts the effect of the exaggerated credit crunch, and economic crunch on one young man. It is moving, disturbing, entertaining and frightening all at the same time. The emotional descriptions as the scenic and character descriptions pain a terrifyingly stark world, but one not divorced from a potential reality. The references to 'Austerity' measures chimes with things as they are. This is a scary tale, makes you think. Scary is the word.

Dystopian snapshot of the future, and of one man's struggle to survive after the credit crunch. Think 1984, but less optimistic!
