Original Specifications:
AMD 2.2GHZ Dual Core CPU
3GB DDR3 RAM
500GB SATAII HDD
ATI Radeon 5470 512MB GPU
Windows 7 Home Premiun 64 Bit

I mainly bought the RAM so I could game lag free and I did get a big performance boost.

When I play World of Tanks I can play maxed out on the Standard setting (Not on the Improved setting) and when I play Dead Island I can play it maxed out.

I then checked how much RAM/CPU I was using and it was about 50% (4GB) and my CPU was working at 100% so if I had a faster CPU I could take advantage of the other 4GBs.

I didn't really notice a difference when surfing the web, I only noticed the difference when gaming. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to game on a laptop as long as their CPU or GPU isn't holding them back!

This product gets 5 stars from me. It was put in to my Samsung R540-JA04UK laptop which had slower ram and only 3gb of it. I build computers a lot so it took me the time to boil a kettle to swap the old for new. When I booted up I went in to the bios to up the shared memory for the rubbish integrated graphics.

As soon as I booted into Windows 7 (Which I just reinstalled to a 64 bit version for all 8gb of ram to be recognized) I noticed a difference. I re-ran the Windows Experience scan and my ram was originally 4.8 on the scan, now it's 6.6 and I can tell. I opened up Firefox and it didn't crash while loading my 6 tabs, 3 of which have flash on them.

It's one of the easiest upgrades you can do on a computer. Just make sure you're running 64 bit Windows. If you're running 32 bit, the computer will only be able to use 3.75gb or less.

Just wish I'd upgraded long ago! Upgraded RAM from 4GB to 8GB as my Mini with OS X Lion was beach-balling a lot due to frequently having a number of applications open & at least over 30 tabs, often necessary for work-related tasks. Since the upgrade, no more beach-balling. Also, OS X's Activity Monitor now shows zero page outs, whereas previously it was high.

I chose Crucial as I've used the same brand previously to upgrade memory on my iBook, an iMac & a PC, all without issue. Crucial also offer a lifetime guarantee, reflecting great confidence in their product. Easy to see why.

I ordered mine from Amazon because it was cheaper here at the time & received the usual outstanding service. All in all, highly recommended!

I had previously bought the single SODIMM pack version in order to upgrade some of my own and other people's laptops from 4 or 6GB to their full complement of 8GB. To date, they have always worked as expected and there have been no issues that could be obviously attributed to faulty RAM. I did no therefore hesitate to buy these.

Although purchased with one PC in mind, they have since been installed in another as the intended PC uses a slightly faster version, which I subsequently ordered.

Purchased as an upgrade for an iMac, works perfectly. To be honest though Crucial Memory has always worked perfectly.

Other than that it's exactly as described and proving to be the best £40 spent this year. The extra 8GB means I can give the Parallels Windows 7 VM a full 4GB which means that both OS run perfectly simultaneously. Switching between OS is now as simple as swiping left and right.
