The Fast and Easy Way to Improve your Laptop's Performance
There's an easy cure for a slow computer: More memory. Designed to help your system run faster and smoother, Crucial Laptop Memory is one of the easiest ways to improve your system's performance. Load programs faster. Increase responsiveness. Run data-intensive applications with ease and increase your laptop's multitasking capabilities.
Micron Quality - A Higher Level of Reliability
As a brand of Micron, one of the largest memory manufacturers in the world, Crucial laptop memory is the standard for reliable performance. From the original SDRAM technology all the way to DDR4, they've engineered the memory technologies that have powered the world's computers for 35 years and counting. Don't settle for anything less.
Make Everything on your Computer Faster
Memory is a component in your computer that allows for short-term data access. Since your system's moment-to-moment operations rely on short-term data access - loading applications, browsing the Web or editing a spreadsheet - the speed and amount of memory in your system plays a critical role. Load apps in seconds by increasing the speed of your memory and installing more of it.
Multitask with Ease
If you're like us, you use your computer to do lots of things at once. You might be editing a document, while also looking at pictures and browsing the internet. This naturally leads to a performance problem: Every app you're running requires memory and competes for a limited pool of resources. Overcome this by installing high-density modules in each memory slot for seamless multitasking.
Extend Battery Life
One of the most important aspects of laptop performance is battery life. By upgrading your memory, you can potentially take advantage of lower voltage modules - and increase energy efficiency by up to 40 per cent when using updated memory technology.* What's more, by simply installing more memory, you'll reduce the number of times your system has to access the hard drive (paging). Less paging means tasks are done faster - using less battery power.
Install with Ease - No Computer Skills Required
With just a screwdriver, your owner's manual, and a few minutes of time, you can install memory - no computer skills necessary. Just watch one of our three minute install videos and we'll walk you step-by-step through the process. Don't pay a computer shop to do something you can do in minutes.
Maximise The Value of your System
At a fraction of the cost of a new system, a memory upgrade is one of the most cost-effective ways to increase performance. Get more out of your laptop by giving it the resources it needs to perform.
*DDR4 modules only.

I installed it on top of existing module so now I have 10GB of memory (1x2GB and 1x8GB) Apple recommends not to mix different modules but I can tell you my mac mini runs perfectly with them. I even ran every memory test I found and all came out OK.
With OS X Yosemite: I can tell you the memory came just like a blessing. Everything runs better and faster, It starts quicker, the apps launch faster, switching through different spaces is much more smooth and faster. Even encoding videos are 2x faster than before.
If your'e on a budget, get this module for your Mac Mini. You won't be disappointed.
My NUC is UK model (you get a G plug) of Intel Core i5 4250U NUC Barebone with MB D54250WY and BIOSVersion :: INTEL - 19, released 2014.03.03.
If you need / want 16GB of memory for your NUC then you might want to be aware of a few things first:
1. It turns out that memory compatibility with NUC has many considerations especially on 16GB requirements
2. I urge you to look at the intel nuc support site for latest information on bios updates / compatible ram etc
3. you need low voltage ram you must get DDR3L1.35v (note the L on the end and check you really are getting 1.35v compatible chips); the crucial chips appear to support 1.35 and 1.5v (i can't confirm 1,5 as my nuc operates 1.35v)
4. when you use 16GB (2*8GB) you are running the nuc at maximum performance as both memory slots are populated full bandwidth is utilised and this calls for memory and timings that work in harmony with the chipset of the nuc
5. it is possible to go higher than 1600MT/s; and there are review sites claiming success with G.Skill memory however this is not yet endorsed by Intel and I can only say that I stuck at 1600MT/s as the gains reported seem marginal 3-4% in most cases and for me I don't need this on a system I purchased more for the balance of power requirement Vs performance.Read more ›
Most people know that there's two vital components for the speed of your PC. - processor and ram. You can't change the processor cheaply but you can improve the ram.
If you're not sure which to use then Crucial have a great system. go to their website and run their free scanner. They will tell you what ram you need and what is compatible. They also have an excellent free phone help line.
From there you can come back and buy on Amazon which is usually cheaper.
If your machine is feeling a little sluggish then you could a lot worse than boost the ram.
May not be one of the most exciting presents you get yourself but it'll certainly be one of the most useful.
Always wanted a machine with 16GB now I have it, even with multiple copies of Visual Studio open at the same time I am not really using the extra RAM but I will be installing VMWare Workstation or one of the other Virtualisation products and that will use up the RAM (and processor) pretty quickly :)
What can you say, it's RAM it works, it's fast, it's a good brand name, it should be reliable and it was a very good price, price more than anything is what makes this one for me as I trust the brand and know the quality is there.
