Format: Paperback
In this slim volume, the saintly mystic focuses our attention on the seven last words spoken by Jesus on the cross. Adrienne sees in these words a universal meaning, beyond the meaning they had in their original, historic context, since they reveal the heart of Jesus, who is God's eternal Word of love. That same love flows to us now in the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church. So Adrienne - with remarkable insight and creativity - relates the seven last words to the seven sacraments. This kind of theology is not the product of academic analysis, however, earnest. It is the fruit of contemplative union with the same one who hung upon the cross. It is more gift than achievement, and will be treasured by those who are able to receive it as such.
