I had been looking for this book for ages and was delighted to find it at last. I love all the easy- to-stitch letters of the alphabet as they are combined with 'quirky' characters and animals etc. The pictures and charts are great. The neat little images are easy to use for a number of different project from cards to wall hangings so altogether a pleasing buy.

I am constantly referring to the versatile designs in this book to create gifts for family and friends. A great range of designs and clear pictures and instructions are given. A variety of themes for adults and children including animals, cultural (Native American, Egyptian, Japanese, Americana) and holidays. Most alphabets are suited to create monograms rather than whole words unless you are taking on a big project.

I love this book, it has charts with both the colour and symbols on which makes it easier for me, I find it hard to follow the black and white charts, there are lots of nice alphabets, my favourites are bugs and beetles, teddies, clowns, sheep and the nursery alphabets - its worth noting that only the DMC numbers are give so if you use a different brand you have to convert the numbers yourself

This book has proved popular not only with me but with other memebers of my cross stitch circle here in Lesotho, Southern Africa. It has a whole range of beautiful cross stitch alphabets, most of which are easy enough for a beginner while still being attractive to the more experienced stitcher. There are alphabets suitable for children and adults which can be used to make cards or small gifts using one initial or to personalise many other items like children's sports bags, towels or even name plates. Well worth the money.
