We have a previous Cricut cutting machine and a Cameo Shillouette, which based on our Experian e with the new Cricut will be used to replace both. Setup was easy via the Cricut Design Space software and we completed the test cuts using the supplied paper, cutter and pen. We then carried out a Print calibration which, again, was straight forward and ended up with us selecting K, 11 as the calibration settings, these appear to be around the nominal settings and the cut of the printed line was central over the complete line.
The software does take a bit of getting used too but assuming some previous experience the learning curve is not massive. We've managed to upload jpg, png and single and multi layer SVG files. All looked, cut and created drawn lines as expected. We have some cartridges and have linked these to the account and machine, easy using the drop down from the menu. We've created new designs by combining uploaded and supplied images and included text drawn by the machine. Impressive results. We've tested the cutting using poor quality card stock, fibrous, and created our own cutting profile, ultimate cut, using a YouTube video as a guide. This produced some very acceptable results. We've cut vynil producing new numbers for the three recycle bins, using the machine settings, great results, top vynil cut the bases layer still intact.
Overall, impressive results. We had looked at replacing the Cameo with the latest machine but the upgraded software we've been using has not been that good as was the Brother Scan and Cut, the software is very poor (accepting that a lot can be done on the machine). Our choice was therefor to go for a new Cricut machine.
When everything works well it is a charm to work with this machine, but most of my time with it is an awful experience .
I wish I could return this item, bought it long time ago.
