With clear step by step instructions for 17 achievable projects this is another wonderful book from Trish Burr. Projects start at beginner level and move on - first up is a poppy with buds, this is followed by various roses and then daisies with sprays. Intermediate projects are built on these with more poppies, roses, lavender and daisies, we finish off with golden flowers, white poppies with blue berries, dog roses with ribbon and daisies, dog roses with grasses and flowers. Projects are graded and each builds on skills learned before. You only need a minimum of stitches to achieve wonderful effects, and all you need to know is included, the book is in a format which makes it easy to follow and is suitable for embroiderers of all skill levels. Nice blend of different thread types too, like the mix of wool with silk and cotton. Enjoy using this one, interesting book.

I have done a lot of cross-stitch and found that it was no longer challenging. I have always admired embroidery but never in a million years thought that I would be able to do it. I bought this book on the other recommendations and it has been a god-send.

I started off with a 'Poppy' design by Anchor designed for beginners and I've impressed myself. The progress is slower than with cross-stitch but then the stitches are different, closer together and the work is meant to be made to a higher standard. I am now on to my second project and it is already much better.

Please don't look at the front of the book and think that you can't do it - you can, you just need confidence and this book!

A nice book bot it is American and a lot of the materials threads are not available locally so there are only a few patterns I can use so not really a lot of use to me
