I have these "bean pots" (soup bowls/mini-casserole dishes) in granite as that matches my kitchen but I'll soon be buying some more in different colours as I'd like to have a full set to entertain a large group. I've used them to serve soup in (i.e. cooked in a pan and then just served in the pots) and also to cook individual casseroles in. When cooking for one, getting the portions right can be a pain, but with these, I just make a bunch of mini-casseroles in these (e.g. 1 lamb shank in each pot), cook them right through, cool them down and then freeze them. I can then take them out of the freezer at a later date, pop them into a cold oven and heat them up and then eat from the same pot - how great is that? They look beautiful and sit proudly on my shelf along with their big brother, the 4L bean pot.

    Colour Name: Volcanic Verified Purchase
these elegant, lidded STONEWARE soup bowls/bean pots, from Le Creuset.

Supplied in pairs, each with an approximate capacity of 0.5L, measuring approximately:

6 cm unglazed base, gradually swelling out and then gently tapering back to 10 cm at the top.
Comfortable side handles and an easy to grasp knob on the lid.
(My later models are slightly less curvaceous than my earlier ones!)

These dishes are simply the perfect serving dishes to ladle in my vegetarian 'Leek and White Bean Soup', courtesy of a super recipe from Waitrose. The lids help to keep the contents hot as they travel the short distance to the dining room.
Served with a piece of warm buttered bread....simply delicious.

Or......when time is really at a premium in my house and there is only me......one dish is the perfect size for a 415g tin of my favourite Baxters soup.
Equally useful for an individual casserole.

Supplied in a LE CREUSET cardboard sleeve incorporating full STONEWARE care & use instructions.

    Larger, 3.8L version also available.

n.b. LE CREUSET STONEWARE dishes cannot be used on a direct heat source.

These are so useful and a great size, I have bought them in a different colour this time. I wish you were given the chance of choosing a different colour (one of each) as I am making up a collection of different colours but now I have two of blue and two of the volcanic colour. Aside from that, they are attractive looking little pots with lids and handles, great for soup or stews. I have only used them for soups so far but they are great as you can hold them and eat at the same time (while watching telly). I also like the fact you can microwave them and also use in the oven and dishwasher. I was a bit worried they may stain if overspilling in the oven occurs but they come out clean (even though I didn't soak them first). Worth every penny and although they are a bit expensive I would honestly say they are a treat worth saving up for or a lovely gift to give someone.

... in these little "bean" pots - and they are so attractive, I now have a small collection in different colours. They are fine in the microwave and hold more soup than you`d think by looking at them, so ideal for a quick snack or for a dinner party. One of these filled with your favourite soup, some crusty bread and a matching mug of coffee - what could be better on a cold day?
