A great little set of short stories. Bennington's style of writing creates suspense and makes for a great read. The finally story I was left with a WHATTTTT?? expression, but in a good way. That is how great the writing was. Short, quick and great to read if you are interested in paranormal activity.

I downloaded this for free from Amazon.co.uk. I just fancied a quick read and thought I would try it. I must say that I am so glad I didn't pay for this because I didn't really like it that much. I found the true stories in the book quite interesting, but not the ones that Jeff Bennington wrote. I didn't find them believeable. Sorry but I won't be recommending this book, or reading the others in the series after it.

I thought this was a very decent collection of stories for the price.

The writing was simple and easy to digest, making this collection a quick and enjoyable read.

Some of them did scare me! Especially Someone In a The Basement - I don't know if it's because it's a true story, but it 'got' to me more than the others.

Other enjoyable tales included The Shadow Man and Rumblin'.

Creepy indeed!

Having read the reviews, the majority of which seemed to be favourable, I thought I would pick this book up for Kindle to read in my spare time. Now, I don't get much spare time so I suppose you could say I was lucky I didn't need much to get through this book. Approximately 15 minutes was all it took, a small slice out of my lunch hour and I was done. I read the first short story, more of a little intro outlining the author's first paranormal experience and thought hm.. I hope it gets better than that. Sadly it didn't. This book, and the author more or less confirms this at the end (the end being the best bit about the book, I would skip straight to it if I were you), merely serves as a platform for the author to share some very un-creepy "true" stories he has experienced interlaced with his creative talents on the ghost writing/macabre front. The true stories were very short, nothing much happened and basically boiled down to a shadow, a few footsteps and a feeling of being looked at. Maybe I am being unkind, but I have experienced so many things that I couldn't possibly explain/have worked for a paranormal research group, so a few shadows and shivery feelings really don't spook me all that much. Then we turn to the attempts at story writing and honestly, I got through the first but was so unimpressed I couldn't make it any further than a quarter of the way through the other. Both were the sort of bad effort you would see made into a low budget non released straight to TV DVD. Everyone to their own but this book did nothing for me and the only thing that scared me was the thought that I had actually been thinking about getting the others before I read this one. By all means have a read and make up your own mind, don't take my word for it.

I have given this book three stars rather than two because the author refers to the Electric Light Orchestra in the first chapter and I love them. Otherwise, the stories seemed rather pointless to me, and I did not particularly enjoy the style of writing.

Enjoyed these short stories not scared at all but ok for a quick read I think books about ghost,s are getting very tame I think the DVD,s they bring out now horror and ghost wise spoil it for most writers they can not compete with what our eyes see.

Very spooky and very creepy indeed! I am purchasing the second and third books and also the authors full length novels. Jeff Bennington tells his stories well, makes you think of them afterwards and leaves a chill up your spine!
