I haven't had time to read all the book yet but just the first few pages and the dip in to later sections has resonated me with me so much. This book is written with such enthusiasm and passion for releasing, not just children but, all of us from the fear of failure that I can't wait to work on some of the ideas the book has encouraged me to realise through the 'And now time for you' sections.
I heard Sarah speaking at a conference a few years ago and she said, "The magic is in your hands". Since then I've watched her win multiple awards for her entrepreneurship and business success and yet in person she is one of the most grounded, kind and thoughtful people you could ever meet. Her personality shines through in this book, which is packed with great examples of how anyone can spark creativity in young minds that will last for a lifetime.
A breath of fresh air to hear that creativity is not loss.... Captivating and inspirational must read... After teaching for over 20 years I have seen real child creativity and exploration decrease in value over the years..training children to pass tests... If you want to re-light the sparkle of creativity and bring back the sparkle of wonder in the eyes of the children you teach or own(lol) then this is an indulgent must read....
Thank you Sarah for my book! I spent the last few days in Bournemouth, relaxing reading your inspiring book inbetween digging big holes in the sand and building sand castles with my girls. I found the book very motivating and the perfect read for my next journey in life! Very excited to be joining you all! X
There's a saying that goes something like 'growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional'. I've been researching positive psychology for the last 15 years and it's clear that one of the keys to happiness is to maintain a childlike curiosity and to be able to see the world with fresh eyes. And this book is more or less about reminding you of that. Oh, and giving oodles of play tips along the way.
It also happens to be a business case study - the story of Sarah's life, with plenty of plot twists and sharp bends. Creating an amazing life takes effort. Too many people are waiting (and waiting and waiting and waiting...) for everything to be perfect before they make their move. Waiting for your dream life to magically unfurl is a pretty bad strategy. You'll die waiting. Sarah's book will give you the nudge you need
