I play the classical organ and piano. I want to listen to music and play CDs. These speakers are not bad, clear sound, but there is no real middle to the sound. You get exaggerated high and low frequency (the amount of bass boost is really ridiculous and is not satisfactorily controlled by the bass level control, the amount of bass is just stupid even on the lowest setting), this might not bother some people (people that like to listen to music the way Classic FM transmits it with over exaggerated bass, for example) and probably makes games sound effects really good, but for music and for the money this system is just not up to it. Over priced, but you do get a nice overall volume control...
My Altec Lansing system sounded much better (which I gave to my son), although the bass unit was enormous and weighed a ton, and the satellite speakers were quite large too compared to the ones on this new system - I guess speaker size really does matter! Think I'll do a swap....

In summary, only buy this if you have plenty of money and if you want to play pop music and like BOOM BOOM BOOM bass sounds, or if you want to play games and like to explode things with a MASSIVE BANG!!!!

I bought this to replace the standard speakers that came with my computer system. I use them only for playing music via i-tunes. Initially i thought that the sound didn't sound very balanced - a bit tinny and too much bass.....UNTIL i spent an hour or so getting the graphic equaliser set up correctly - now I have to say that the sound that these speakers produce is awesome. I am only using the system on 20% of it's bass output - and it is incredible. The small speakers are capable of the highest definition and even on 20% the depth and resonance of the sub-woofer completely fills the room with sound - even at low volumes. I dare'nt turn the bass any higher as I've got neighbours!!!(and i live in a detached house).
The metal small speakers look neat and compact - the sub-woofer is hidden beneath my desk and it's power is - well - sort of like an earthquake/volcano etc. I think you do have to play with your Graphic get this to sound right.Listening to my music is a new level of enjoyment with this speaker system

To cut a long story short: these speakers are absolutely fantastic. The sound quality is great and the speakers and subwoofer (in comparison to other systems) are absolutely tiny and look a lot better in real life than they do in the pictures.

I really don't understand the lower reviews - I can try and address a few of the issues I guess. The speakers automatically turn off when you turn the volume control down - you can even hear the little click in the subwoofer as they turn off. They can go extremely loud, and they can go to uncomfortable listening volumes without distortion. However, somewhat obviously, if you're deaf or looking to shake the walls you're not going to get it from either a desktop PC system or from speakers this small. If that's what you're looking for, this clearly isn't it, and I don't think you need a review to tell you that.

The sound goes across the range, everything is reproduced well. Of course, it's all subjective and while I appreciate good sound I won't comment on high/mid/lows because in general everyone disagrees with each other because no one knows what they're talking about. All I will say, though, is that people talking of "no middle" do not know where the middle is - if you want no middle listen some Logitech speakers, then try and say these are lacking. I moved to these from the Logitech Z-5500 system and I'm not looking back.

I own a Gigaworks T20 for almost 2 years now after Megaworks 250D. I like my T20 very much except that it lacks of bass. Thus, I look into Gigaworks T3 speakers hopefully it will punch in some bass for some music and games.

In fact, T3 bass is very deep. It is deep and strong where it shakes the table at low volume which comparable to Megaworks 250D 7/8inch sub-woofer with a lot smaller size form. It is good to have strong bass for movie and games. However, it is too strong and has to stay at 30% level for most songs. I wish it has game mode and song mode on the remote so I don't have to tune it frequency.

The sub-woofer bass level can be tune at the back of the sub-woofer itself but it wouldn't totally turn off even you turn to minimum level which is not a big deal to me. The cross-over frequency of this sub-woofer is unknown but I would have guess it is pretty low as it doesn't provide much details in from the sub-woofer.

The satellite speakers are surprisingly small and does look nice. The satellites also sound crisp and clear but somehow too metallic and lack of warm where T20 did a better job. These satellites sounds un-natural for soft music with overwhelming treble and weak mid frequency response. The disappointing thing is that basic feature like tuning the treble is not possible. The remote control provides AUX, earphone interfaces and volume control but not treble level control. As I am trying to set up 4.1 surround with combination of T20 and T3, changing treble on system will affect my T20 as well.

As the satellite speakers doesn't perform as I wish, I removed the satellites from sub-woofer and listen to the combination of T3 sub-woofer and my old T20 speakers sounds.
