Convert your computer to a wireless audio hub
Simply plug in the included USB Bluetooth transmitter to your computer's USB port and enjoy wireless audio through the speaker system. This gives you the freedom to place the speaker system where you would like to, not where you have to. With an operating range of 10 metres you'll have plenty of options for the optimal placing of the speaker system (walls and structures may affect range of device).
The speakers may literally be palmed-sized but they pack one solid punch. Their compact size enables them to placed in many locations, but they look so good you'll probably want to show them off. Backed by quality drivers, get ready for a highly enjoyable listening experience. Each satellite speaker measures 7.4cm x 7.3cm x 10.3cm (DxWxH) and weighs 320 grams.
Key functions such as volume and Power On/Off are easily accessible via the right satellite speaker. You can also plug in your headphones for private listening. Many MP3 players do not have Bluetooth functionality so the right satellite speaker also has an AUX-in jack, so you can make a wired connection. Simply plug a 3.5mm lead (requires male to male 3.5mm lead, not supplied) into your MP3 player's headphone jack, and the other into the AUX-in jack on the right speaker.
The two trendy satellites with cloth grilles and subwoofer come in a small-footprint design which optimises space on your desktop and reduce unnecessary clutter. The speakers fit perfectly into small spaces with minimal hassle.
The highly efficient Creative DIRECT-THROW subwoofer design with flared slot type port-tube gives you excellent heart-thumping bass for exhilarating movies. The Creative DIRECT-THROW subwoofer design utilises the most basic efficient techniques for optimal bass reproduction for its size and class. One main benefit is getting most of the usable energy from the loudspeaker to the listener.
Another benefit is that it complements where we usually place our subwoofer at home or at the office - beneath the desk, against a wall. This design allows it to take advantage of Acoustic Boundary Coupling (ABC), whereby the deepest bass energies are coupled by the boundaries adjacent to them resulting in higher bass outputs. In short, you get a relatively loud bass from a very compact subwoofer enclosure.Place it in the corner under your desk for maximum impact. The subwoofer measures 23.2cm x 18cm x 20cm (DxWxH) and weighs 1 kilogram.
Be in control
You can set your desired bass level simply by adjusting the conveniently located knob on the subwoofer. Get clean, explosive bass from the 19-Watt subwoofer, just the way you want it.
Creative produce a wide range of speakers from small desktop multimedia speakers, to surround sound 5.1 systems. See the range here.
Top customer reviews
The bass is great, the sound is great and for that compact size and price you really cant go wrong!
I would recommend them to anyone. Especially if you're a uni student like me on a budget.
OK, you can wire the right speaker manually to something (although the in socket for some weird reason is on the outer side of it) but if you want to connect it using how Creative recommend you have to use a Bluetooth dongle. How does this allow me to plug these speakers into my TV using the audio out on the TV?
Reading the reviews it seems many like me made the wrong assumption, encouraged by Creative that the satellite speakers were wireless and you'd plug whatever into the subwoofer. Yes it has a 3.5mm in and another 3.5mm out but they are on the far side of one speaker, not in the centre of the set up!
Like many others I assumed that there would be a way of connecting a Bluetooth device to the speakers, but instead this is dependent entirely on the speakers being plugged into a PC so that they can use the attached dongle, something that is not an extra but rather an integral part of the product. The music is then channelled via the Bluetooth dongle, and something as simple as changing the volume using the speaker controls will break the signal.
The literature on these speakers by Creative is even more misleading, even the front of the box is with the back of the speakers airbrushed out so you cannot see that they are wired! Despite boasting about their wireless abilities, Creative never thought to include instructions on how you would connect anything other than the system to a computer although apparently it does work with other devices.
The end result is that speakers I bought to use in my living room with my television, I am being forced to use with my computer in the study instead. As computer speakers they are fine, but for over £130 they are grossly overpriced. Just as well I only paid £60-something.
Due to the misleading literature on this I will never be buying anything by Creative again. If I can't trust a brand, how can I ever trust the product? Poor show.
