Her best yet! I love her up-to-the-minute humour, and satire- definitely one of the best chick-litters!

I've read all Chris Manby's books over the years and perhaps my reading tastes have changed as I remember really enjoying the early ones. I didn't like the recent Spa Wars much and now was rather bemused by this one being set in America - is the author trying to win over the American readers? I personally found the story line and main character rather silly rather than amusing, but, as I said, perhaps I've just outgrown the author.

Wasn't sure about this before reading due to front cover - but couldn't put it down after first page, light hearted & funny - I laughed out loud would recommend it to anyone who loves chick lit. Great holiday/beach read. I am already looking at the books I have not read so far by Chris Manby in the hope they will be just as entertaining.

This a laugh out laugh book that onces you start to read you will not be able to put down until you finish. It is about a heiress(much like paris hilton) who set her sight on a guy called Dean .Though the story she makes disastrous attempts to make him fall in love with her including arranging her own kidnapping.

Millionairess "Birdie" is a typical Hollywood socialite - think Paris Hilton. She lives for shopping, money and all things materialistic. She's also mean, mean, mean!

After falling for fellow Hollywood star Dean, the entire relationship is based on publicity stunts. He is in it for the headlines and not a lot else. Birdie, in desperation plots a kidnapping - of HERSELF in order to win Deans heart for real.

This is a really silly book - but strangely enjoyable and feed-good. If you're looking for a light bit of fluff, look no further! Chris Manby writes such guilty pleasures.

This as a quirky book, with charactures that are celeb driven and annoying , then with an unexpected twist Birdie wakes up to the spoilt bratt that she is, ... It's a must read book, I found I couldn't put down, it will have you laughing at Birdies gullible traits to be a fashionista and the awful clothes, to being warmed by the close bond she makes in extreme circumstances.....

I like to read a lot, and with an average of 40 books per year, about half of them are chick lit. I find these books a nice relief from the every day stress and a great getaway. However, with this book I could not get past the first 50 pages, for me it is just one of those book that cannot be read. I did not find it funny but burdening, the humor is just pushed too hard and the situations are overstated and therefore become silly and, in a way, annoying. This is the first book in the last few years book I had to give up on.
