The stories of the snarling Mr Dave Bassett and Wally Downes were good but somehow expected more. More craziness, more episodes. Story of a team built on raw talent, determination and luck. An achievement likely never to achieved again

Great book. The antics of the crazy gang are well documented but it is the spirit of those years and the fantastic achievements that make this a must read for any football fan

This is a dreadful book, which seems to have been written for two reasons. One, as a corrective to the BT Sport documentary which was broadcast a couple of Christmases ago, and two, to make money. The book is way too long, you end up reading the same half dozen stories over and over again from different people, and it feels like the really juicy stuff has been left out. Bassett comes across as his own biggest fan, and while there's no doubt that what Wimbledon achieved was remarkable, you don't hear many football fans saying they're missed today. Even if you're a Wimbledon fan I'd imagine this book would put you to sleep. It is that bad. Save your money, watch the BT Sport documentary again, while it clearly exaggerated the story, at least it was entertaining.
